what could be the problem?

hi.. it happen when i'm in the game, than i double click to go into the room, it hang. awhile later the whole screen jus went black! the music stil playin..

i giv a little more time for it to response or something, but nothing happen. so decided to off it.

than i switch on, backlight came out, but nothing is there, jus black! even normal bios screen also dont hav.

so i let it continue to boot wit the black screen. after than, blue screen came out about the display driver "nv4_disp". STOP: 0x000000EA (0x8AC15BF0, 0x8A94EB00, 0xBACEFCBC, 0x00000001)

anyway, could i buy the extended warranty? my laptop is already over 1year warranty, but now is about 2year plus ler. it is Acer Aspire 5584.

could it be the graphics card damage? or lcd screen?

hope someone can help me pls! really appreciated!

 

the stop code indicates a graphics card driver issue. Typically bluescreens are due to a SOFTWARE issue not a HARDWARE, but you can't rule it out.

Uninstall all your graphic drivers in safe mode with Driver Cleaner. Restart the laptop and install the latest drivers.

but i cant even c anything when the laptop boot up. jus black!

when i on, i only notice the lcd backlight light up, but no words, jus nothing, black screen.

 

have you tried using a monitor ?
if its the graphics card then you will see nothing.
if you get some thing on the monitor then its a lcd screen or a damaged invertor

yes..i try to use another monitor n plug in, it has very weird colour and lots of "$" sign. able to go into safe mode. not normal mode. if under normal, it wil bsod.

 

If that is the case I'm leaning towards one of two things.


#1. Can you get into safe mode with the lcd screen? If you can only get in w/the CRT or external monitor then I would proceed by uinstalling the graphics drivers , restarting and seeing how far you get.

#2. the $ sign's could be due to a bad hardware issue, can you take a camera picture?

#3. Try a live linux CD on the system to rule out a windows OS problem - www.ubuntu.com

 

actually it is able to load normally, jus tat i'm not able to c the process of loading in my lcd. only blank screen, but lcd's backlight is there.

after than it wil appear this(bsod) after a min plus(i surpose it is at the login screen already). notice the pink strips:


i hav tried to connect external monitor jus b4 i power on. after the blue screen above.
bios, notice the blue strips.


at the f8 screen.


loading of safe mode:


when arrive login screen of safe mode, no problem wit the colours n image.

very weird tat after i came back after work, it appears ok as per normal. but than after some time of use, it lag, hang, than bsod like the above. 2 to 3 times like this, after than after i power on, same problem is back, nothing at the screen except backlight.

so i tink tat its isnt the windows problem. tried to take out the hdd, but same also. power on already cannot c anything.
