    what does the latest BIOS_Acer_1.14_A_AS3810T AS3410 do?

    i just downloaded the latest bios from Acer support dated 09/21/2009

    any ideas if this is a step back in terms of configurable VT or any other benefits?

    As for your question - check the changelog if it's included. If it isn't then you'll have to contact Acer.
    Most BIOS updates are bugfixes and new hardware support. New features and/or options like switchable VT - I don't think so.

    just an update for the cardreader from what I have seen.

    VT was enabled in 1.11

    Here is the list. Acer download site shows 1.14 just after 1.10. So all the following changes apply to the latest one.

    2009/09/14 V1.14
    1. Realtek card reader with plug dummy card D3 status cause the post time wait over 1 minute.
    2. For WiMax issue workaround, only for the 5K machines exporting to Russia.
    3. Removed _GTF in ASL code to force ACHI driver handle those stuffs.

    2009/08/27 V1.13
    1. Acer made a request that BIOS must add one backdoor for clear Supervisor/User password.
    2. Fixed system resume from S3 black screen issue and adjust brightness depend on panel under WINXP discrete mode.
    3. Fixed Touchpad lock status need 30 sec delay workaround as S4 resume.
    4. Fixed keeping the Wireless and Bluetooth fail as S3/S4 resume.
    5. Fixed IGD overlay screen has garbage frame of UMA SKU with Win7.

    2009/08/19 V1.12
    1. Compatible the Acer requirement, modify the UMTS status.
    a. First boot UMTS enable
    b. Keeping any changed status of UMTS even if the system restart.
    2. Fix the issue : On SCU boot page , press "enter" key , then use f5/f6 key to change the boot priority. the f5/f6 key shift behavior is strange.
    3. Fix the ITS issue #6846 : DC mode and power smart off, it can not keep the status after S3/S4 resue.
    4. Update EC code
    (1) Update new Fan Table.
    (2) Modify any key resume from S3 include MMB and button

    1. Support brightness control icon on discrete only mode.
    2. Keep brightness setting under Winxp when resume from S3/S4.

    Works fine for me on 3810TZ and WIndows 7. Don't notice a big difference. Sometimes waking up from sleep takes FOREVER, but that was there before (like minutes).

    I've just got a 3410T (core2 solo Vista 32 bit BIOS 1.07) and have just downloaded the BIOS 1.14 folder from the Acer website.

    Running InsydeFlash V3.72.00 shows the new BIOS ID JM31SJM... (rest obscured) V1.14 but comes up with the message "This BIOS is not for your Notebook PC."

    Hmmmm - any ideas?

    Is it the same BIOS for the AS3810TG? Where did u get that file? I could only find up to ver 1.10 for my AS3810TG. :confused:
