    what is compPtcvui.exe?

    ive searched all over the net and it says its a trojan, but others says that is the fingerprint drive but, i go to the task manager check open file location and it doesnt do anything while all others processes shows the location. i have a acer aspire 6920g.

    After doing some reasearch for you I found out the following:

    1. The Aspire 6920g does have a fingerprint reader as you probably already know

    2. Going to the driver site for the 6920 show the driver manufacture for the fingerprint reader is ABIG.

    3. ABIG utilizes a program called Vitakey which is made by Egis Technology.inc

    4. One of Vitakey's executables is compPtcvui.exe it is part of Acer's Bio Protection

    So long story short if it's causing you any issues and you aren't going to use it you can uninstall it.
