    as my Thread name says above

    What is the difference between an acer aspire 5050 and 5052 motherboard

    because i bought a new cpu for my acer aspire 5050 and installed successfully :) but i was looking around the page where i bought the cpu and looked that the acer aspire 5052 motherboard was more expensive than the acer aspire 5050 :)

    Both belong to the Aspire 5050 Series. The stock specs must be better for the particular 5052 model.

    Acer models are usually listed as 5050-xxxx (xxxx = 6165, etc) or 505xXXXX (x = 0, 1, 2, etc and XXXX = WXMi, etc)

    yes they both belong to the aspire series
    5052WXMi
    and
    Aspire 5051AWXMi
    so both are the aspire 5050 series
    the only thing i can see with the computer is that is has a webcam
    but my computer does allso have the port to connect a intigraded (spell?) webcam

    but i wanted to know the diff between the motherboard :)
    and what the spec is for the motherboards,

    What Andy said to you is correct the aspire 5050 series is just like the 5100 series(and most other acer series as well) when it comes to different models.

    For instance the 5100 series has the 5101, 5102, 5103 and 5104 all of them use the same mainboard and can accept the very same amd turion processors; they all use the same bios, drivers etc. The only difference you will find between them is that the different models will ship with different specs and that is the reason for the price difference.

    but my computer is a 5051 awxmi and it does have sata i know because i replaced the hdd
