    Hi There,

    My acer 6935g has a T6600 2.2ghz processor at the moment which has a 800mhz fsb. :D

My question is this: what is the fastest processor that i can use? Can i upgrade to a 1066 fsb processor ? Or do i have to stick to the 800 fsb range of processors..?

My ram is curently 3gb of ddr3 pc3-8500 which i am upgrading to 4gb. So as i understand it, my ram will work at the faster fsb if i should be able to upgrade to the faster fsb range of cpu's, or have i got this wrong?

What would be the effect (if any) of a faster 1066 fsb cpu on the battery life, i mean would there be a noticable reduction ie 30 minutes or more...?

    Thanks

The faster FSB will not have a large effect on the battery life.

    What chipset do you have?

You can use pretty much any socket P CPU (1066FSB included),

The extreme versions and quad might not work though (depends on BIOS support).

    The T9900 is very fast.
    T9600 is a great choice.
    P9500 is good.

BTW, thanks for the comment on my name :)

hmm.. since i-5 is out now, is there's any way to upgrade to it?? i got the same chipset as natman. Well the biggest question is, is it worth it to upgrade to i5 since i was afraid the others hardware will bottleneck it.

Nope - i5 uses a different socket and different chipset...and by different I mean part of it is integrated onto the CPU die.
    The i3/5/7 CPUs are off-limits.

Nah, the money for said GPU evaporated, along with my time to put it to good use. Thanks for the kind words, though.

Any C2D P socket. My test with the quad-core failed so Acers not specifically shipped with quad-cores are no go.
