I've been AWOL for a bit, so I'm not up-to-date on the current news surrounding popping Penryn's into the Conroe released 5920G model's. I have the 5920-6273 in particular and I'm hoping there's a way I can jump up to something like a T8100. anything would be better then my T5250...but I'd much rather have Penryn, if possible.

would one of the masters here be so kinda as to tell me or redirect me to where the news/information has been stated/released etc etc?

    many thanks! :D

what's the point? why not get one considering it's added power savings and bit extra performance boost? especially so when I have a T5250...lowest of the low  now I'll know I will have among the fastest 5920G's out there and have a laptop that will hand my buddies Alienware it's ass at a quarter the price!

I just updated my 5920-6313 to a t8100 under bios 3808. I went with the t8100 over the 8300 or 9300 due to price and thermal concerns. There was no reason to be concerned about the thermals of this new processor, PCwizard is showing very low temps mid$ 30s at idle under 50 at load (not too sure how accurate PCwizard is but it agrees with coretemp). I can not get the fan to kick into high speed. If I had it to do over again id spend the extra 50 and get the 8300 at least.

anyways ive seen some interest on this board so thought id share.

Oh and Klas the point is that ive gotten a kick ass laptop for a lot less cash (I also love tinkering)

    **edit for clarity**
