    ....helllo
unless its in the display settings of the game u cant change to widescreen 16:10 (its thats wat u r on about). not too many games support widescreen unless u have a hack for it. the borders are only marginal and u dont nitice when youre involved in the game anyway?...well i dont
    goodbye..... :D

Oh, it's coz your notebook is widescreen, and unless you set your video resolution to Widescreen (16:10 or 16:9) in the Video Options menu, you won't get it to take the whole screen.

EDIT: Dang, g33 why o why did you post just bare seconds before me? :p Lol, I don't care - just wanted to complain :D

oh right, what graphics card have u got? some stretch it so it is full screen but looks distorted, i always have to go to in game settings to switch to widescreen if the game supports it, including CS Source or Half Life 2

You likely will have to find the option for switching between center, stretch, or maintain aspect ratio. I don't know why I can't remember where this way..I think it's in the bios. Check there, press F2 on startup, I would check for you, but I gotta run lol.

this works for me in the movies dont know if it can help you with games do this:
go to the Arcade software, then settings and there you see screen ratio and chose if it doesnt work with widescreen then chose the other option, that helped me with the black bars in movies

Okay...try this. I'm not sure which drivers you are currently are using (I suspect the ones supplied by Acer) however it may work with those too. I'm using the omega drivers. If you right click on your desktop and go to display properties, then settings, and then advanced, it will bring up a bunch of tabs. Click displays, and then click, "Panel." Click "Scale image." and then expand to full panel size. that should fix it.

Are you saying that Sims 2 didn't give you the option of widescreen? I don't know - I just lost track of where this thread is going :p
