my 4810tz keeps freezing, i've tried all the fixes on this forum, apart from re-installing windows 7 (I cant see how this can help).
what I need to know is how I can get the minidump file when my laptop locks up?
i've looked at the event log and all it says is event 41 kernal power, i need to find out what application/driver is causing the crashes!
I can't believe this can't be fixed, this is really bad on acers part.
a note to make though, this freezing happened on my gf's laptop, and she was running a core duo, so maybe its the proccessor??

As you say this is a well known symptom with unknown cause. I cannot imagine every laptop is doing it though as the retailers would have shipped the consignment back (years ago we could negotiate returning the whole stock if 5% were coming back).
Time to get an exchange (NOT a repair) from the seller. It is unfit for purpose and defective on arrival -
Minidump files are located:
C:/Windows/Minidump/******.dmp -
