OK.. this is just a long shot. does anyone own a AS5672WLMi-ATI X1600? because i do and im trying to find soneone with this model.

    this is the problem

I took mine on a plane and ever since iv been getting bad sectors on the hard drive. it got to the point where my OS wouldn't load anymore. so i repartitioned the drive with partition magic ( thus losing the hidden recover backup). by now im sure ACER wont touch it. I got windows on it now. im planning on replacing the drive soon

Sooo I need to find someone who could make an image of that partition for me. and im praying that maybe u could shed some light for me.

If you know anything or anyone or have what i need.

please, please, please help me out

contact we if you could at [email protected]

    thank you

I don't see why Acer would not help with your warranty, I don 't think it is against the warranty to reformat your hdd. Just some thoughts.

    Hello.

Not only did i reformat the hard drive but i also deleted the hidden partition.

Im going to call them today and tell them everything. For some reason I have that feeling they wont do anything because it got destroyed during a plane flight. But even if i tell then different there's always a catch.

Anyways, thanks guys for posting and keep them up. Any information helps

If anybody starts getting bad sectors on their hard drive and the data is important to you do not reformat your hard drive. Get Spinrite and run it on your computer. This program will try every conceivable way to get the data off the bad sectors then remove those sectors from computer use. I've been using versions of this software for close to 20 years.
