for some reason whenever i unplug my laptop from the AC cord, it crashes my laptop after about 5minutes of running on battery power,

i called acer and they want me to send it all the way to texas for repair and i live in NC so it would be gone for at least 2weeks
i really need my laptop because i pretty much run my business off of it and cant send it in for repairs

has anyone else had this problem or know how i can fix it?

i have a feeling its the battery but i really dont know

When you say crash do you actually mean turns off?

It sounds like a bad battery to me if it is in fact turning off; however, when the unit is running off the battery it lowers the voltage to the cpu; this may be having an effect on the stability of the unit due to the lower voltage. In this instance it could be a CPU problem.
