i was looking through my running processes. this is a fresh acer system resore and ive got igfxpers.exe running which seems to be installed with nvidia graphics cards..i dont have any nvidia graphics ive got the intel gma950. In my startup programs ive got nvcpldaemon, nvmediacenter and nvsvc. igfpers.exe is in the startup under the name "persistence".
another wierd thing, iver got one startup program called ????????? and another called ????r. what is up with that.. its a fresh install!
should i just remove these things.. or are they necessary? thnx

But igfxpers.exe is also "Associated with the Common User Interface module for Intel graphics cards"

I would disable the nv stuff one by one and restart and see if they effect anything -
thanks i was just trying that out after i posted. i was looking at these startup items in spysweeper. when i look in msconfig theres a bit more info about the processes. everything seems ok except for one process that is in chinese or something. the manufacturer is unknown and the under the "command" heading where it usually shows the files locations it is also in some foreign language. now, if i disable this process and windows restarts, does that mean its safe to keep off? im just worried it might be needed, maybe not immediately u know what i mean? thanks

i doubt it is needed so disable it and restart and see if you notice windows or any other program acting wierdly.
wierd things running on my 5570
