    will a tl-64 cpu overheat in my 5102

    ive read the turion tl-64 gets much hotter than a tl-50 so can the fan cope with the extra heat ,is there any tips on keeping it cool as ive ordered one and should be with me any day now

    buy a good quality heat paste and a cooling pad ;)

    I would also suggest if you are familiar with RMclock you can use that to undervolt the processor. Undervolting can lower your temps but you will need to findout what are the stable voltages for the different CPU multipliers.

    The TDP is only slightly higher. You should see if similar models are equipped with chips that have a TDP of 35W. If so, it shouldn't be a problem. I doubt a little bit more heat will cause any major problems.

    Exactly what Evolution said above. I guess to late but the 65nm TL-60 has the same 31w TDP as TL-50 so would not have issues, but if you want TL-64 or can't change, once you install run something like Prime 95 to see how it handles the heat. Then you will have a better idea problem or not.

    Did anyone of You guys changed thermal paste?

    Are the temperatures lower after that and how much?
    My fan drives me crazy.

    i changed my paste on my old travelmate last month and found it made one hell of a difference. the Tmate is 4years old so was due for a good service :)
