im trying to put windows 7 or vista on a aspire 9500 and cant find any drivers to get on the internet is it a xp only machine that makes no sense??
-
Well, ACER provide some Vista drivers for your laptop model which *might* work for W7..
ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/notebook/aspire_9500/vista/Drivers/ -
been allover there site they have everything but network drivers, frustrating i cant get online because of this
-
Ok try this link for Realtek GigaBit LAN driver:
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads...n=4&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false&Downloads=true
Get the "Auto installation program (support Vista 64 and Vista) (Submission ID: 1319709)"
If you don't have gigabit but fast ethernet check this link:
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads...d=6&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false
-
the realtek is showed as installed in device manager but under other settings i got the yellow exclamation for ethernet controller??
-
The realtek is installed and yet you don't have a working LAN? What is the exact name of the devices? The "installed" Realtek and the one listed under "Other devices".
The ethernet controller with the yellow exclamation mark could be the wireless card.. -
realtek rtl8169/8110 family pci gbe nic #2 is there a driver for the wireless for vista i dont even know what model wireless card it has
-
Well I'd suggest you get the driver from the link I gave you( realtek gigabit) and reinstall it.
Your wireless card is Intel® PRO/Wireless 2915ABG, you can get the driver from here:
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&Inst=Yes&ProductID=1847&DwnldID=17233&strOSs=All&OSFullName=All%20Operating%20Systems&lang=eng -
already grabbed those drivers and tried both windows 7 has those preinstalled like i said the gigabit automatically installs im going to try the wireless maybe the realtek went bad
