    windows vista and my acer laptop problem.plz I want help

    I have acer aspire 6930g lapotop came with preinstalled windows vista ..my problem is this preinstalled windows vista now has toooooooooooooooo much troubles and I want to reinstall to get red of all these troubles and I heard that I can reinstall it using ((factory default)) DVDs which I made by acer eRecovery program when I bought this laptop but I must tell you that when I bought this laptop ,its hard disk came with only 3 partitions so I used its windows vista tools to create 2 new partitions and now I has 5 partitions so If I used ((factory default )) DVDs to reinstall windows vista ,AM I going to loose new 2 partitons I created and all data in them ?? :confused:

    You might try a program like Acronis to back up...but I'll tell you that in using it with a 5810TZ the recovery didn't work. That was running IDE mode, in XP. I haven't tried it with Vista.

    I recently got a 6930g, my advice is if your going to go to the trouble of doing a clean install do it with Windows 7 - 64bit version.

    Get all the correct drivers together first, most of them can be downloaded on the Acer website. Some you have to D/L direct from the device manufacturer though.

    Not sure about what to use to get rid of the hidden partitions, I left them alone and kept the 2 main partitions as well.
