Ah strap doesn't bother me. I just want something cheap to lug it around with me :p. My current bag is for 17 inchers so I need something smaller but didnt wanna pay 100$ for the messenger bag

Yeah sure but an alienware bag with a strap would be cool, I want one because I'll have to carry it with me everyday at school and straps fine for that.

I've been using the Orion 17" backpack, which may seem like major overkill, but I can fit my lappy, mouse, adapter, controller, and school books and still have a lot of room left over

Anybody knows if in the official AW backpack there's room for the charger+wires?

It doesn't say so in the item description on Dell website.

Yea, it really isn't meant for something to protect your laptop completely on it's own. I am going to throw it in a backpack, and I think that would be plenty, especially because my Swiss backpack has a lot of padding.

I'm thinking about getting this case. I'll be traveling extensively through hostile environments for the next six months, and I was wondering if the 1090 case holds the laptop and the power supply? Also, will it fit into a backpack?

I bought this one at my local Microcenter,

Case Logic 14 Laptop Attach > Laptop > Case Logic

works great! It holds everything I need it to! Currently it holds my m14x, power supply, mouse, xbox360 controller w/ usb adaptor, external 2.5" drive and still has a little room for some folders or paperwork.

THis is beautiful !!! exactly what i want! a bag within a bag! safest way to carry your laptop around !!!.. i will simply put it in the sleeve and then into one of my existing tote bags...

Too bad my country Australia's Dell website does not sell this!!! :( It sux living in third world country where there is a limited product range :( the only accessories for alienware they got here is for m17x... and the standard monitor/keyboard/mouse stuff !!!! :( NOTHING for m14x, m11x, m15x, m18x... sigh... gotta move to USA !!

Hi, I ordered the Orion M14x Backpack

and I would like to know from those who have already, if there is a waterproof backpack cover, like the backpack for Dell XPS M1730, or if I have to buy separately

    thanks

    ciao

Got to say, I bought the Orion M14X Messenger Bag for a bargain of £24.99 due to a MASSIVE up from Dell with my order lol... Sorted it easily, but anyway onto the bag...

It's awesome, has loads of space in 1 zip compartment for just the Laptop and charger etc, however I can easily fit my Y series Sony VAIO in too, all my Uni folders/stationary etc, Mouse and USB fan for the Sony, with plenty of space to spare, the build quality is immense and it just oozes quality, it even has a cushioned back section for where it will be resting against your body, I can honestly say, this is the first laptop bag I CANNOT say 1 bag thing about, seriously, if your on a budget, save up, if you aren't then buy it, I would imagine the Backpack is just as good and secure, however i'm 28 and a Backpack was a bit to "kid-ish" for me (no offence intended) however it's just I feel the shoulder bag is nicer.
It has loads of pockets, inside and out, Memory stick holders, USB holders, File holders, Mobile phone, ipod, it even has 2 compartments with zips both sides, so you could easily put an MP3, Ipod, PSP, DS etc in it with music playing and have the power cord in 1 side and headphones out the other, it really is just fantastic as bags go and i'm VERY critical.
Shoulder strap is excellent, all attachments and fastenings are metal, not plastic, anywhere that has been stitched is double stitched, they warranty ot for a year and it even had a card inside with the name of the guy that quality checked it.
Plenty of padding, including the shoulder strap. My ONLY complaint would be the pictures on the websites do not show just how much storage and room there is in the bag, they might have undersold it lol :D :D :D

Lastly for anyone wondering "well it advertises the fact I have an Alienware" bare in mind a few things, firstly, the bag only has the 1 Alienhead logo on the front, so it's subtle,
Secondly, most thieves are stupid, but if they are going to steal a laptop bag, do you really think they will go, let's wait for the guy with the Alienware bag to come along (most won't know what Alienware is, if anything they would think that it's a geeks bag with comic books in it and so less valuable), for those thieves that aren't stupid, like I say, they will STILL take any laptop bag, they won't be picky. If a thief wants something, they will take it, it's not more steal-able.

I picked up a SwissGear Synergy a few days ago for my M14x and am really happy with it so far. Will be hauling it around the Grand Canyon for the next week so I'll report back on how well it holds up.

The M14x fits nicely with plenty of room for an iPad and books. The small side pockets work pretty well for the massive power brick and keep it nicely out of the main pockets.

I got the 14" Case Logic bag. My son assures me it is too tight to be practical for the M14X and I can believe it. It fits the M1330 nicely, though I can't get our cooler in it as well as the wire sticks out.

Another thing that would worry me with the M14X is that the padding on the edges isn't too thick - especially as the M14X has a sharp edge which is not central in the pocket.

Nalada, I can assure you that everything I listed in a previous post does fit. In the attached pictures you can see that I have my power brick, bluetooth mouse & my external HDD in the front pocket, my iPad in the middle pocket and then the m14x in the main pocket, then the other picture shows it closed nicely. Now when I first got the bag it was a tighter fit but after about 2 days it was fine!

Which HDMI cable do you recommend to me for my alienware m14x?

Notes: I don't have a Full HD tv, just HD, so I don't need a real awsome cable.

    Thanks dudes.

I'm looking for a carrying bag that lets me use my m14x without removing the case (ie there are straps inside that hold the lid, and I don't need to take the laptop out to use it). Any recommendations? It would be great if there's space for the charger to slip in. Thanks :)

I got the Alienware logo messenger bag offered on the website when I purchased the m14x and it is the greatest bag ever made. It feels like it is military-grade stuff. It is "checkpoint friendly" which was cool because they did not make me remove my laptop at some airports on my overseas trip. I highly recommend this bag for any use.
