M14x Order Status Discussion

yeah.. it is pretty fast considering they have to customize them before shipping. but i guess dell just cover themselves by giving a pretty long EDD when first ordered. I'm assuming everyone's EDD will change has the progress of their order changes.

 

Hopefully my EDD gets shorter too

ahhh.. ok, you will find that the EDD will be reduced when the build is complete.. that's what happened with mine..

 

Dell always way over-estimates times with a new product launch. It's not surprising to see EDDs cut in half.

 

So something weird, my status still shows delivery prep, but my purchase amount was put back in my bank, Im hoping nothing is wrong!!!

I ordered Friday in USA, with Farmers plan, Est ship date 5/17. Great stuff. Thanks to the info here I saved even more by not upgrading to 3GB video ram.

Now in production (after the usual Dell credit card authorisation glitch when billing address doesn't match account address)

Rather I should say... "Be as careful as you can Alienware to put it together with accuracy and patience."

Wish they had a TIM option to get premium stuff put on by a person of SKILL.

I would GLADLY PAY 30 bucks extra to save me the time.

ordered on the 21st and Status says ship complete or Finalizing production! I hope I get it by next week that would be great.

 

dammit - ordered mine on Sunday with a £300 off voucher (I'm in the UK), was in production but it got cancelled for some reason becuase of a mix up in verifying my payment details.

Now they're saying I need to reorder but the voucher has expired. I've asked if I can order at the discounted price, does anyone think they will do it?

That is very unfortunate mate. My £300 off order is still in production while 16% off order is already in Germany on the way to UK. If you spend a whole morning on the phone complaint to supervisor I think you can still get the discount. Good luck

Would you mind to let me know how long does it take from in production to canceled in your case? I have not received any phone calls or emails from their financial team for verification and your case started worrying me.

 

Well I got the internet receipt email straight away after ordering on Saturday. WOuldn't let me track the order though, until the order confirmation email came through on Sunday night, status was 'in production'. They phoned/emailed me on Monday lunchtime asking for address confirmation. I logged on and it was cancelled at about 2.30 yesterday.

Did you receive an order confirmation email yet?

 

Acknowledgement email came in on 24th, confirmation email arrived in 4 hours. Still in production at the moment.

The shipped one is already landed in Koeln, wondering if my mate could pick it up he is watching Schalke v United now

 

probably be fine then I reckon. I put my shipping and billing addresses as different which is probably why there was a problem...

 

ah yea that could be the problem. too bad you almost for sure lost the chance to grab 10% TCB cos you will have to do phone order now.
Spend a couple of hours calling customer service, customer relation, supervisor and customer complaint department there must be a solution, good luck.

 

Or if you want to take the 16% off one you can have it off me unopened, or I will be returning by paying the 20 quid charge. It should be here before royal wedding.

Guys can someone just help me out here

If i get a laptop from the US to use in the UK will i just be able to buy a UK power supply/charger from dell and use that or am i stuck with the US power supply ?

Also can anyone else think of any other differences there will be between a UK and US laptop and any problems i may have ?

the only other difference i know is the Keyboard

 

You need a uk power lead to connect to the 8 shaped socket into the adapter. That is all you need.

Or get a power socket adapter for us tourist from tesco/argos/amazon

theres not going to be a difference it watts or voltage or anything

 

All my laptops bought in 8 years time are labelled 100-240V so they can be used globally if can be connected to the socket.
In case if your adapter die, Dell will ship you a brand new one in 24 hour without asking for it back or any proof, top class service.

 

I just got my order confirmation,I had an XPS 14 dead for a month.Since I own 3 other alienwares they gave me a free replacement M14X!Whoooohoooo!I had so many probs with dell I love my m11x and m17 also I fought with dell for a month,1 call to my alienware rep and 4 hours later M14X baby.The only problem is Im in pre pro I cant wait!How long are the average wait times in USA?Its basic specs 2630/4gb ram,500gbhdd/2605 wifi reg lcd.Thanks

But if you knew what I went through.I wouldnt wish it on my worst enemy....But yes its pretty effin awesome.The only thing is Im without my replcement a month not counting now waiting all over again.Thats why I asked average wait times to USA I know It varies case to case but just a ballpark?

 

I can attest to Alienware having top class service!They are imho awesome and my rep is a good dude no BS a real straight shooter!

wow, after shpwing in production since i placed the order the morning of the 19th, my order now shows shipped, has a tracking number shipping for new jersey and a delivery date of tomorrow. that is totally crazy!

i am listed as 7 day shipping as well, but the track shows delivery tomorrow. Sjhows that it arrived and shipped out of Jersey today, arrival tomorrow

Usually they dont deliver on Sunday. I think there was a Saturday option but you gotta pay extra.

 

My was ordered on the 20th... and says shipped, but haven't received any further info. So I assume I'll have it in my hands by Thursday since I have NBD.

Okay final notes, I ordered with 7 day delivery option, showed an edd of 5/13/11. Yesterday, all day long my order still showed as in production. About 10 pm eastern times, my status changed to shipped.

I just saw that my tracking number has my m14x in alexandria, like 10 minutes from where I live on truck and out for delivery. Of course I am working all day and will not be able to pick up till tomorrow morning, but it will be there waiting for me.

I was wondering how long you guys waited for your orders to finish "in production" and getting shipped?

 

I asked the same thing Daniel, Im going crazy cuz I waited a month when the m11x 1st came out.I ordered yesterday also.I can,t wait,This is a replacement from a dell bad problem Im without my replacement a month now.
