Quick question for anyone who has installed 10.11 drivers.....
I have installed these and every time i run 3dmark06 and vantage, when i get to the results page, it says that my results wont be "published" because my graphics drivers is not FM approved???? - wth? ???...its an ati driver release?
Seems like Futuremark havent got around to reviewing these latest official AMD drivers and adding them to their "list" of "approved" drivers huh? - dxdiag 64bit tells me that my display drivers are digitally signed whql so what gives??? - they are whql 10.11's......
Anyone else get this message at all from "the orb"..... -

latest one is 10.11 cap2 -

Cheers Batboy,
I thought it would be something like that....seems that Futuremark have tested the desktop variant of 10.11 but not the mobility variant.....that sucks.....not that im that worried about submitting results to the orb, it simply annoys me when the test completes and im then told that "drivers arent approved"........
Maybe they will add them to their list at some point in the future and we can then post genuine results..... -

I see that AMD have released CAP 3 for 10.11 via AMD website here: http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/crossfirex-app-profiles.aspx
Being new to AMD drivers (this is the first time ive swapped out Dell in favour of AMD), im unsure of one or two things.
Firstly,
1. Is the link above for both desktop and mobility cards or is there a specific one for mobile gpu's? - seen on AMD site that they have different 5870 drivers for desktop and mobile counterparts and I dont want to install the wrong ones!
2. Assuming this is the LATEST release, does this encapsulate all other previous releases or do they only cover whats in the release notes...basically, by installing these, does it cover past revisions that include fixes for other game titles from other CAP releases?
I have them d/l on my desktop and ready to rock, so if anyone wants to answer these for me, that would be great...
Sorry for the lame question....AMD newbie here LOL -
2. Always remove the existing profile first before installing the new one. -

Does this latest version of CAP cover any fixes that have been made in the past for games or is it just for the games covered in this latest release? - just wondering - I assume that they just keep "adding" fixes to each new release and therefore, it is constantly being "updated" meaning thie latest CAP release will have all previous game fixes "within"...??- right? -
The lastest CAP will incorporate the fixes from previous versions. -
CAP 4 has just been released
Rage3D
◦3DMark 2011 – Improves CrossFire performance
◦Dead Space 2 – Forced on Anti-Aliasing through the Catalyst Control Center has been disabled
Remember to remove CAP3 -

Hello all. Plz dont mind my noobie questions. I am going to install the new 10.11 basic care package drivers without the CAP which Grimfan had posted earlier. I have all latest drivers, bios and vbios updates installed after i had done a fresh installation of windows following Grimfan's "Latest Drivers Checklist" thread. Have some questions.
1) In future when there are new display drivers available from Dell for our M17xR2 then should i uninstall AMDs 10.11 and then install Dell's? And do i use driver sweeper everytime after uninstalling video drivers?
2) Do i need to uninstall previous CAPs when a new CAP gets released? Since i have not installed any previous CAP releases, will new ones have fixes and upgrades from previous versions?
3) How do i make sure both my 5870 cards are running in xfire mode properly?
I have read that people find some times only one of their card is being used while playing games even when xfire is enabled and catalyst AI set to advanced. A power drain fixes this issue for most though but i guess a power drain shouldn't be used as often??
4) I have GPU-Z but dont know how to determine from the readings if my both cards are being used and functioning properly.
5) AMD display drivers are recommended over Dell's?
Any help/suggestions are welcome. -

2) Yes - if you have a version of CAP installed, prior to installing the latest version, you should uninstall the CAP you have using add/remove programs / uninstall....then just install the latest CAP. The latest version will be an up to date list inclusive of any previous "fixes" so no need to worry about older fixes as the list is continually "added" to with each revision.
3) You answered this in your next point - gpu-z will show if BOTH your cards are getting utilised. You can check this by opening up two gpu-z windows, selecting the sensors tab on each one and from the drop down at the very bottom of the gpu-z window, choose your "other" gpu from the list - top one is primary gpu and bottom one is secondary gpu. If both cards show they are heating up, then both are working.
Also, you could download a small program called Hwinfo32....it measures lots of system infor such as gpu/cpu temps and is really quite useful - it will show both gpu's in one window and you can check temps and gpu load to see if your secondary card is getting used.
4) See point 3. Also , if using gpu-z, you can see if your gpu clock speeds are operting normally - ie between 100/150 and 700/1000 without any overclocking....if you have gpu-z open, run a benchmark test such as 3dmark11 or vantage, then after its run, you can see in gpu-z how your gpu's have been operating...it will tell you temps (min/max/av if you click the dropdown for each reading) and what your gpu's were clocked up to during the test.....idle clocks would be 100/150 and full load would be 700/1000
5) Again, preference really. AMD drivers are reference drivers from AMD directly...Dells are just "Dellized" versions of the same - I would say that AMD drivers should be better over Dell and it is only of late that we have been able to use reference drivers from AMD without the need to modify them to work with M17x - lots of threads here relating to performance of AMD 10.11 and 8.763 from Dell.....atm, I think the better of the two would be AMD 10.11. -
Thanks for the detailed explanation Stevie

I was refering to the complete package Grim posted on page 12 or around I think.
The CAP profile is not up to date in this package but no big deal on that one. -
Any one tried installing the new 10.12 drivers and its performance in games? Is it worth installing.

i tried the 10.12...went back to 10.11
10.12 has some ugly 2d text problems and seems slower in 3dmarks06 thats for me...others say its an improvement
10.11 Drivers now out
