What happens when you set it to 16x AA?![]()
PS: I'm preparing a complete 10.11 package with OpenCl driver and HDMI driver, and if i find out how to include app profiles into the install routine then that aswell, all in one package to install at once.

Grim....you are THE man.....
Regarding the HDMI audio drivers, if they are available as part of the desktop catalyst, is it possible to d/l and just install that particular component from it? - if so, is that the correct driver for our systems? -
Alright, here it is.
The very complete 10.11 ATI/AMD Mobility driver package including original ATI Display driver, OpenCL driver (ATIStream), HDMI Audio driver and WMV-Decoder.
Software includes ATI Install Manager, Avivo Video Converter, Hydravision, Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2010, Application Profiles and Catalyst Command Center, everything 10.11/Windows 7/64-Bit.
I provide 2 files, one is an automatic Extractor/Installer *.exe like you know it from Dell, the other is the raw *.zip archive.
Use the original ATI Setup to customize your prefered components you like to have installed. This package is for most Mobility Radeon Chipsets 2400+.
I will provide 2 mirrors (sendspace and zippyshare).
Hope it's all you need for the moment, enjoy
Catalyst Mobility 10.11 "Complete Care" *.exe (Sendspace) | *.exe (zippyshare)
Catalyst Mobility 10.11 "Complete Care" *.zip (Sendspace) | *.zip (zippyshare)

Good work Grim.....really GREAT job.
-
Files updated, see above.
-
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
What is the WMV Decoder for btw?
-
To decode Windows Media Video Files (*.wmv) i guess. I don't install that one, as i already have K-Lite Codec Pack doing all the job for me and the hazzle of playing anything i want or need. I can also recommend VLC if you don't like Codec packs that much.

Installed Grims "package" and working really well.....Grim, thanks fella.

For the people that don't need all the other crap (software) and just want to install what they need, i can offer you the following:
Basic ATI Mobility Catalyst 10.11 Package, which includes:
ATI Display driver and HDMI Audio driver, ATI Install Manager, Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2010, Application Profiles and Catalyst Command Center, it's 10.11/Windows 7/64-Bit.
Catalyst Mobility 10.11 "Basic Care" *.exe (Sendspace) | *.exe (zippyshare)
Catalyst Mobility 10.11 "Basic Care" *.zip (Sendspace) | *.zip (zippyshare)
-
Thank you Grim for the time you put into doing this
-
will i notice a difference going from the 10.8 drivers im using now to Grimfan's 10.11 package. I really dont have any issues with any games right now and im a little afraid to change the drivers out!
-
why are you trying to fix somthing that is not broken
?
-
Spiderman-17 i have the same machine. can you tell me the score that you have with 3dmark06?
-
very true! but maybe more FPS?
-
Managed to get the new drivers installed after realising that the APP edition included the display driver as well.
Strangely however, my capacitive panel stopped working afterwards (which a power drain fixed).
@Grim, good stuff on the drivers ! -
Grimfan -- excellent work! I installed the Basic package you put together with no issues and am looking forward to trying it out!
Quick question though -- i see you have a screenshot that shows what version of the application profiles are installed -- i was looking for that same screen on my system (in the ATI CCC screens), but havent been able to find it -- could you point me towards where i could find those version numbers on my system?
thanks! -
you know what Grimfan, you really rox
thanks a lot for that compilation -
If you download the advanced technology version (which you can choose 'custom' during installation and uncheck the things you dont want) it downloads itself as a self-contained exe file, instead of being a downloader that does not work.
so on the 10.11 mobility drivers section, pick the second option. It should work. -
Not sure if it has anything to do with these drivers, but whenever I try to open Garry's Mod through Steam it has trouble initiating the Graphics Card and says "failed to created direct 3d device". It doesn't do this for any other games. I can't say with confidence that it's the new drivers because I downloaded gmod after getting them, but it certainly looks like a driver related issue to me. I have the latest drivers, the latest Direct X updates, the latest Windows updates, and the Windows .NET framework which Steam suggested I download. I wonder what the problem could be.
-
I don't seem to get that issue. Just tried.
-
The latest FIFA 11 patch and these new AMD 10.11 drivers combo have improved the performance of FIFA11 quite a bit on AMD GPUs. Almost as good as on Nvidia GPUs now. Which is a good thing.
Cheers.

the APP package for some reason does not work with crossfire. I installed them first, and the option in the CCC is just not there..
-
Hi Lozz,
Interesting I just installed the APP package and don't have any problems with crossfire (option is there, it's checked etc). I'm on the 4870's however, so maybe that's the difference. -
what is OpenCL? is it related to the CPU/GPU crossfire performance? or is it just for development purposes?
-
This new update seems to have fixed my constant crashing problem I have with SC2. I was using the 10.10 extreme drivers previously.
-
After getting tired of crashing to desktop in BFBC2 I decided to give these a try. I was on the Dell drivers.
I could swear that my monitor (Acer p215h) is brighter now and the text is sharper. It is just me or could it really have happened just from removing the old and installing these drivers? -
A power drain is where u keep the power button on the laptop pressed for about 15 secs without the battery in the laptop??
-
I need a few suggestions from you guys to clear my confusion.
Has any body got more FPS in different games using the 10.11 drivers? I understand that its a matter of personal opinion when it comes to deciding what drivers to use and what to skip, but i would like to know from all of you whether there has been any significant increase in performance in games who have used the new 10.11 drivers. Games like the new NFS Hot Pursuit and other games.
Any one noticed any change in benchmark results before and after updating to the 10.11 drivers?
The issues i am at present having with Dell's 8.763 display drivers are the flickering problem when there is any red or bright scenes in games (this happens only when i enable catalyst AI to standard or advanced) and the other problem is not being able to get the AA settings working in NFS hot pursuit by forcing the AA settings to the max also. But that i suppose is fixed in the 10.11 drivers?
If at all i must install the 10.11 drivers, should i always use driver cleaner after i uninstall any old display drivers? I have latest vbios installed.
I hesitate to install the 10.11 drivers only bcoz i might run into compatibility issues with my M17xR2.
Help much appreciated  -
I just finished benchmarks before and after the latest Dell to 10.11 change.
All else being the same, in vantage I get 40 more points in GPU score (probably within margin of error). In 2006 I get 100 or so points more in each SM2 and SM3 scores.
I noticed no FPS change granted I've only been playing BFBC2 and it's at 60 much of the time anyway. The only thing I have noticed, is my crashing to desktop seems to have gone away(so far so good anyway) but sometimes I get a single blank screen flash (flicker?) only during cut scenes(so far). -
Any idea if these drivers fix the Crossfire related problems?
-
I haven't noticed any crossfire problems. I have mainly only played BFBC2 the last few days and it works great with crossfire with both drivers. Sacred 2 was also working great with crossfire the last time I played.
-
Bummer. Well I just installed these drivers and my Crossfire problem is still there.
I'm starting to wonder if maybe I have bad hardware? -
Hi guys, got a problem when installing. Uninstalled dell drivers and ccc booted back into safe mode, ccleaned and driver swepped, reboot and try to load Grims complete 10.11 package and get stuck on "failed to load detection driver" missed somthing I guess.Help would be appriciated.
-
Sorted.....Installer will NOT complete the install in safe mode...Thanks for the Installer package Grim
-
I will put up a youtube video link to my flickering problem in a while for you guys to take a look. I really need this problem gone. Thank u Dajohu.
-
Have you tried ATI's latest profile?
http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/crossfirex-app-profiles.aspx
The profile should not depend on the driver version (at least I don't think so). In my short experiences with ATI video cards and drivers, not only drivers make a difference but profiles also. -
I am totally unaware of any sort of profiles. I have not installed any. But these profiles are for the 10.11 drivers right? I am using Dell's 8.763 video drivers. I must install the profiles after installing 10.11 drivers? And whats a power drain?
-
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
CAP profiles are catalyst application profiles for AMD drivers...they are releases by AMD that increase performance in certain games etc....if there is a "hotfix" for a game, and it is released with the profiles from AMD you should expect to see better in game performance with that particular game...kinda like little mini fixes.....i would certainly use the latest CAP profiles from AMD website if you are gonna use the latest AMD 10.11 drivers over and above Dell 8.763.
The latest CAP profiles are available to download via the above link you quoted.
Regarding power drain, this is where you turn off the laptop, remove the battery.....press and hold the power on/off button for 10-20 seconds and this literally "drains" any power from the system...a bit like a mini refresh if you like. Then reinstall the battery and run as normal. In certain cases, doing this can sort out some issues but its worth a try to see if it benefits you at all.
Hope this helps. -
Hi!
I have this exact same problem:
Its a problem with our 5870 cards and catalyst AI/crossfire working oddly with a lot of games out there. I absolutely HATE the issue too and I see it in A LOT of games.
You have three solutions:
1)Hope that AMD has a customized app for the game by downloading the app profiles listed above which almost always fixes these uber phail stuttering issues.
2)Turning on VSYNC will remove about 90% of it but in keep in mind that our laptop GPUs can NOT handle VSYNC+Very high graphics AT ALL and will instead give you choppy frames in the most EXCITING Parts of any games. [I hate this because my mouse feels sluggish when I do this]
3)Disable Catalyst AI [despite what a lot of monkeys say this is not the same as running on ONE GPU although it is not as EFFICIENT as having it set on STANDARD]. YOU WILL see an FPS drop but this is a LAST RESORT. -
It disables crossfire, making it run on one gpu...
-
Lytsu , did you try using the 10.11 AMD drivers to eliminate the flickering?
unreal25 in post number 41 in this thread http://forum.notebookreview.com/ali...y-calibrating-m17x-r2s-rgb-led-via-ccc-5.html seems to have solved this issue. I yet have to install the new 10.11 drivers, was just waiting for some feedback on its compatibility and performance by users.
steviejones133 , do i have to change any settings in the application profiles after installing them? Did you install then Basic pack or complete care pack of 10.11 drivers? -
i dont think the flickering is related to the latest DELL drivers, i have the dell drivers with latest VBIOS and I dont suffer from flickering right now.
-
10.11 gave me massive FPS boosts and overall performance gains all across the board
HOWEVER
It also gave me the annoying flickers that I did not suffer w/the dell drivers. So yes Irkan is quite right on this matter. -
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
This "flickering" was only apparent to me when i was using 8.763 (new dell drivers and vbios) - only happened when i adjusted CCC settings to Crylo's RGBLED calibrations in the above thread...the problem was only apparent (to me) when i started to run vantage...got some nasty flickering while "jane nash" was loading shaders etc....
As it was suggested it may be a driver issue, i decided to install 10.11 to see if it remedied this....and it did - so, in my book, this flickering WAS a driver issue.....it was the only thing i changed and it got cured by doing so.
-
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
You can just install the app profiles and thats it...no adjustments needed. If you install grim's "complete care " (love that btw grim.....
) or "basic care", app profiles are included for you.....no need to do anything else...
10.11 Drivers now out
