    16GB RAM Works for M17x R2 !

    I don't think I've ever tried a non quad core Clarksfield i7 with 8 GB SODIMMS. I know my backup Clevo with a 720QM (lowest end quad core i7) ran 16 GB with no issues. Intel ARK shows the max memory supported is 8 GB, but I had 16 GB work, same with Arrandale i5/i3.

    That's wierd! Then it should work! Maybe they are broken :( but you know for sure then that with my setup it should work?

    Hello, I'm not sure I understood it well, my R2 has got an i5 CPU, will it support 16gb?

    I've been reading i5/i7 dual cores should support 16 GB RAM, YMMV. Best of luck.
