I scored P3476 in 3dmark11 with 2720 cpu. mine is low.
-
get some proper benchmarks that actually indicate game performance, not 3d mark
-
I got P14021 in 3dmarkvantage.
-
-
good show
-
I've nevered benched before so where do I get 3dmark11 and Unreal heaven 2.5 as well as other benches so I can contribute .

google

The Revelator Notebook Prophet
You can find them all here: download from Guru3D.com.

Unreal heaven 2.5: 42.5 FPS - Score 1041 - Min FPS 8.1 - max 98.4 FPS - Stock
2nd run: Unreal heaven 2.5: 42.7 FPS - Stock -
same as mine bro. ill add it.

well guys. looks like the 580 is going to be owned by the 6990 unless we can figure out the throttling issues
-
The Revelator Notebook Prophet
Pretty close really. 6990M is a little stronger in 3dMark11, but the 580 leads in Vantage. The Heaven benchmark doesn't show enough difference to matter. Both cards are delivering performance that was unthinkable for a single card notebook until the last few months.
-
yes well right now im incredibly annoyed at dell for throttling the card..
and if heat is so bad why not throttle the 6990 too? half the fun is overclocking, but its being artificially limited when its not on comparable clevos etc -
The Revelator Notebook Prophet
The 6990M is throttling too. The voltage restrictions severely limit the overclockability, so it's not much of a bencher, but it's a hoss in stock trim for most uses.

lol. thats the point!! we cant!!!
overvolting gives LOWER clocks!! it trips the throttling earlier
its only the clevos that can get overvolting and good overclocks -

Are you able to boost the core to 850mhz?
Cheers. -
thanks chief!!!
nope @ 835 core the benchmark freezes and the driver crashes. prolly need some external cooling to get to higher core clocks. could prolly go a little higher on the memory too. -
How about 3d mark 11. Boost the MEM perhaps and see if you can beat your last score oles!
I've also seen others sacrafice the MEM OC to try and help boost the core a little bit more. I'm not too sure which one actually boosts the score more though. If I remember correctly raising the core increase the heat more so then the mem but then again the mem chips will also heap up quicker when being raised and tortured
Cheers. -
@Inap: Do you have some kill-o-watt readings? I'm eager to try and voltmod my 6970m sometime during the next weeks, I wonder whether there's some headroom in the r3 when it comes to power draw.

My 3dmark 11 score, note my currently weaker CPU however. Will get it sorted when I can afford to lol. -

psu is actually 240watts. gave me a few mins i'll re-run the heaven again and gave you some numbers to play with. if you can hook us up with a voltage mod that would be crazy.

Edit: With this headroom a 2920xm and the unlocked BIOS would be cool
Is it possible to raise the voltage of the 560m? Do you know whether the VBIOS allow a slight change? -
unlocked 2920xm and unlocked 6990 would be a benchers dream come true. crossing my fingers!!!

No, they only have voltages between the 2d and 3d voltages. Been checked at mvktech.
Here is a 3dmark 11 bench at 925/1850/1850:

Very interesting, thanks, +rep. So it's definitely an improvement compared to the 460m, overclocked you get to the stock level of a 470m, even a bit above in vantage. Sweet. Considering that the card is cheaper than a 460m that's pretty cool.

What I find amusing is the 38C idle temps.
-
-
cool. now oc it and tell me if it throttles in 3dm11
-
flashed the overvolted bios and... its worse. throttles even sooner now :S
im waiting for LVneptune to get back to me regarding his 485 before i try and flash the clevo bios.. dont want my system not to boot -
Does the 280.19 drivers work with our comp?
-
yes .
-
Preformance increase?
-
not really.
bad news on the bios front, flashed the clevo bios (over volt version) and still clocks..
looks like its throttling from the main bios.. stupid dell! -
We can overclock the GPU with msi afterburner or we use something else?
-
we can yes. do me a favour and try it. because mine sure doesnt like it
leave memory at stock and try.. 740 core. then run 3dmark11 -
Downloading and installing MSI afterburner as we speak have results in the hr.
-
cool .
-
Ya I got a lower score than before.... at 720 core i was getting 32.1 frames in unreal heaven 2.5. Did i do something wrong
580m vs 6990 benchmarks
