Anybody else noticed a drop in FPS for MOH? Certainly noticeable.

I did notice a drop for Kompany 2. I haven't tried MOH Tier 1 yet. However will do later on to finish off the campaign.

    Cheers. :)

There are actually modded .infs and a whole installer package with modified .infs for 5xxx desktop cards floating around the web.
Morphological Filtering (MLF, aka "Console Anti-Aliasing") isn't all that great (it's roughly 2xFSAA quality, worse in still scenes, slightly better in moving scenes), but it possibly works on some games where regular FSAA doesn't even when forced (like Gothic 4, GTA4, Mafia 2, etc.). It can actually make some games look worse as well, especially ones that use much text.
A mobility modded version would certainly be nice, but the MLF will only really become useful once RadeonPro allows it to be set per game profile.
It's a must-have for any AMD/ATi video card user in my book, just like nHancer used to be for Nvidia cards before it's development was halted (and Nvidia Inspector is now in a way).

I had no issues with installation and I think the performance is slightly improved (have only tested with FFXIV) - however I'm noticing that the even browsing the web the fans kick up and down every few seconds which is really annoying. (Strangely, it seems about the same or less in-game though)

This did not happen with 10.8 and I'm considering rolling back as a result. Has anyone else experienced this?

if you want the display driver to be -ATI mobility Radeon HD 5870-

    just do the following:

    1) run .exe file (as downloaded) to extract files.
    2) cancel setup after files are extracted
    3) go to packages/ drivers/ display/ W76A_INF folder
    4) edit the two .inf files (C7106237.inf and CH106237.inf) by replacing -5800 series- with just -5870-
    5) run setup.exe from inside the extracted folder

    the result
    [IMG]

note: you wll get a message about trusted driver during installation. just press install this driver anyway.

I keep on getting the BSOD every time I try to remove the Dell drivers on my 5870 cards? It always happens half way through the ATI CCC uninstall process.

I updated the vbios ok and installed the dell drivers as per Grims thread on the forums. The system reboots and halfway through it always fails because the BSOD kicks in. I have to do a system restore in order to get back to the desktop. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I'm not touching these drivers. I have the 8.763(10.8) everything is great!
Turning on Vsync and triple buffeting fixed all my XFire BC2 issues.
No more flickering and stutters. Some games like BFBC2 need Vsync as others run better with it off.

I installed them. Doing some tests and will post my feedback later tonight or tomorrow.

UPDATE: Well, 3D Mark 06 dropped by about 50 points, and Vantage dropped by about 200 to 300 points. I am gonna try running it tomorrow morning when the machine is cool, been running it all day, so it could be that causing the lower marks. Will try games next.

UPDATE #2: Played BFBC2 and MoH: Tier 1 both on max settings.

    - BFBC2: Confirmed drop in FPS, but visuals seem smoother, as though AA actually works. Bloom seems to be more graphically pleasing.
    - MoH: Tier 1: Better FPS, overall smoother graphics, and again, AA looks to actually work a tad better, not as choppy. FPS seems improved in MoH compared to the drop in BFBC 2.

OK. Screw dat I love this game its amazing and running perfectly since I did the little fix recommended by CodeMasters on setting the replay file to read only.

From what it sounds like I am not seeing enough to make me jump from 10.9. I did a clean install with these drivers and the computer has been pretty rock solid. So ditto to Handsome

I rolled back to the latest Dell drivers. I re-ran MoH on and fps seemed better. 10.10 doesn't seem that good considering the loss in fps in games and benchmarks. Let's hope 10.11 will be a success.

Also saw the drop in fps in BC2. As this is pretty much the only thing I play, I rolled back. To anyone rolling back to 10.8: Be sure to only have 10.8 Catalyst Application Profiles, as different driver/CAP versions don't mix well.

Do you have the latest BIOS/vBIOS from AW installed? Can you install 10.8 with the latest BIOS's without any problems? Do you have flickering with 10.8? Since I have updated to the latest BIOS/vBIOS and driver from Dell, my BFBC2 gameplay has suffered. Flickering seems to be getting worse in MP. Can I install AMD 10.8 with new Dell/AW vBIOS?

I haven't updated to A09 yet because I never use the touchpad, but I have the new vBIOS and 10.8 works fine. The default driver had the best performance for BC2 for me, but now that I have the new vBIOS, I can't go back. The only problem there was with those was long loading times. Now, every other driver has black screens and crashes -.-

Well i did a few runs on Vantage & 06 and scores were down on vantage a 1000 & 800 on 06 so uninstalled & reinstalled 10.8 scores back to what they were previously. Yet the Heaven benchmark was better on 10.10 than 10.8 .Bizarre. ;)

With these drivers I'm up 376 on Vantage and down 30 on 3DMark06... whatever that means.

Games are about the same or a little better I would say. Then again, I don't have BC2 or MW2.

Well, I reinstalled 10.10... don't know whats up with these drivers, but this time around, my 3D Mark 06 dropped by about 400 points, Vantage by about 100... BUT... BFBC 2 FPS went up and so did MoH Tier 1... very weird. I guess I'll keep em, not really worried about benchmark scores as I am with FPS :)

Oles chiefs. If game FPS went up I would keep them. I'd rather my actual games to run better than whether the benchmark numbers went up or down. Its also hard to gauge benchmark numbers as they will always fluctuate.

    Happy Gaming oles! :D

Yeh its pretty cool. Very simple though as compared to the Linux versions indeed. Those ones like on Ubuntu are killer.
Nice though that its an option given out by AMD. I quite like it oles.
Use the mouse chiefs? I just switch between windows and the mouse is ready and working.
My desktop wallpaper disappears on the other windows desktops however no worries.

I'm just using the switch method at the bottom of the taskbar and its super quick. Works like a charm. I also love using the video convertor. WOW its soo quick. I convert like 2 - 3gb video files to 15mb in like 1 - 2 mins. Just awesome. Much faster than movie maker last time oles! :D

Sorry if I missed this somewhere, but has anyone tried these with the 4870 crossfire setup? I've seen mixed reviews about 10.10 and the 4870s but wasn't sure if anyone here has tried out for themselves. Not sure if I should leave the working 10.5 drivers I already have.

hi guys quick question from the peanut gallery. just found out that i couldn't just load the 10.10 from the amd gaming site but had to search the ownloads for the 10.10 mobility driver for the 4870x2 cards. i also saw fps increase in moh 50fps to 90 fps but a drop in bc2. my question is on the amd gaming site there is the application driver but none when i downloaded the mobility driver. is there no app driver for mobility cards? or do i use the app driver from the amd gaming site on my mobility cards? while i'm on a roll the vbios update only applies to 5xxx + cards right? mahalo and aloha

Go to AMD.com and on the right hand side you can select drivers/downloads. Select your card, OS, and Notebook Mobility.

You will then download a 1.1mb app that you run and it will detect your card where you can then choose to download the driver. Run the driver package and your all set :)

    Hey there chiefs.

Yeh the 1.1mb file seems to be confusing people again. AMD LOL!!!
They keep doing this lol. Sometimes releasing the full sized file and other times just the small download app file. In this case it is a download manager or sorts. So you just download the 1.1mb file and run it. It will detect scan and download the specific driver for your GPU.

Yes you are correct the vbios update was only for the 5870s. The 4870s are all good so no need to fix them.

Oh yeh how did you get or measure the 90fps in MOH Tier 1? I thought that game was capped at 62-63fps. Or has there been a patch released or something recently. I haven't played it in a week or so now.

This is strange ey guys. Reinstalling the driver again and poor results seen the 1st time around are actually producing positive and FPS improvement in some games now.   :p
Trick or Threat AMD! ;) :D

    Cheers. :)

Ah i see i see. Tell you the truth I haven't touched any games in a while now. I only got to play MOH Tier 1 the 1st couple of days when it was released.

What kinda FPS are you seeing in MOH now chiefs? Avg and MAX FPS? Is it still capped at 62fps? Or is the MP not capped like the Single player campaign mode. I remember they used 2 different engines for SP and MP.

    Cheers. :)
