    I never thought clevo card wouldn't work in R3 coz lots of R3 owners here have been upgraded to 7970m's considering the fact several of them are ES cards?..card Did they give you an ETA of shipping pre ordered cards?

    Plus if Clevo 6990M worked, then 7970M will too.

    7970m , where can I buy it, and how much are they?
    To SlickDude80, Im interested in knowing about the 6990m you have for sale.
    Trying to upgrade the GPU in my M17xR3, which currently has an 460m , which isnt quite powerful enough to run Skyrim smoothly.

    I did an ebay search for the GPU today for the 7970m, but nothing came up in the search for the GPU itself, only a few laptops popped up that had them inside.

    Is the GPU cards for the M17xR3, that has MXM 3.0b I saw listed as part of the info for the GPU.
    Like this " NVIDIA GTX 660M (Kepler); 1.5GB DDR5; MXM 3.0b Module - Upgrade Kit " I saw listed from ebay.

    Ryan, u won't find a 7970m on ebay yet...actually anywhere cause they are just being sold now. and those that have them are guarding them with their lives lol

    The 660m is a little faster than a 560m which is essentially an overclocked 460m that you have. It still probably won't be enough for your gaming needs (if you want all the fancy stuff on)

    You want at least 6990m/580m/675m level. 7970m would be ideal, but they are just hard to get now...dell will sell them for around $600 tax in...UpgradeYourlaptop is selling them for around the same price once you factor in the brackets etc

    i was reading about something interestigo when AMD get out the official and stable Drivers the Card Will Suport More Overlocking u thing this is true?

    u have the true bro but.. by the moment thats the price and the price will drop down with the past of the time and this are the last Graphics card for this machines... i mean i will wait i little longer for the 7970m or 680m... because with the 580m i can play all the games with out lags :) exepto metro 2033 but i dont like that game... and well thats all i mean if u have the 580m and 6990m u are fine... with games and when u see that you are having dificulties with games u can get the 7970m or 680m...

    mine is April 30th (last day of pre-order price) and scheduled to be ship last May 11th. I haven't received any update yet, we'll see if they can ship our cards earlier this week..

    I've tried to keep an eye on this thread but may have missed something so thought I'd ask in case someone knows for sure.

    Is there any firm news on these cards working in the M17xR2? Last I saw no one could confirm it would work yet?

    I'm hoping, perhaps in vain, that I'll be able to replace my current GPUs with a single 7970m and not have to fool around with power supplies, etc

    @ hastarin - I don't think it is confirmed working in the R2 yet, I get my card tommorow and will update you guys on whether or not it is working in the R2.

    @ airacutie - Yep ordered directly from Dell - Arm yourself with patience if you plan on doing the same thou, think I was on the phone for 20 mins. being sent back and forth between different departments before I finally got to a guy who could help :D But after that it is pretty straight forward.
