My framerates match yours in Skyrim and Witcher 2 but for some reason I only get between 30-40fps on Modern Warfare 3 with everything up at 1080p. Any idea why?

Just played it again. Its locked in at between 90-100fps. Not sure why yours are so low.

Well this fixed my problem haha. I forgot I had switched Enduro on for battery life yesterday. Just bumped it off and I'm getting between 90-135fps hahahaha. Why is Enduro so bad :D

I am able to install the drivers up to the point where in "device manager" under the 6900m series, it says that the driver version is 8.982.(which is 12.8) and the status says something like the driver signature can not be verified, or is not digitally signed. I know when I restart I have to select "Disable driver signature" option in the boot menu, however after I do this it does not load into windows, it only gives a bsod and mentions the file name "atikmpag.sys" as being the issue, has any one had this issue or know what this means and how to resolve it, thanks.

My Skyrim is at 60FPS but my Witcher 2 is only at 30-45 FPS. Is it because my Witcher 2 is not updated? :(

Just tried out 12.8 and it rose my temp from 65C to 84C in bf3... still 99% utilization also, it's kinda sketchy cause 80's are kinda high to me. framerate is exactly the same too. ima stick with 12.7 for now.

How do you revert back to the old 12.7 driver? I'm running Crysis 2 at Ultra with DX 11 and High-Res texture pack at 27-40FPS. Is that bad? :/

Always create a restore point manually before trying any new driver, if it wont work, restore back.

He means do a system restore to an earlier point in time (not a factory restore). Search for System restore on your start menu search box.

personally I would recommend uninstalling all the current drivers, until you are back on VGA then re-install 12.7 if you cant get 12.8 to work. Its a cleaner method and you wont be farting about with any left over files - which might mess with your config.

if you're running the 7970m, this will be a huge improvement over 12.6, if you're running a 6900's card, you won't get that huge an improvement

sherrypizza, have you tried the modded 12.8's? I don't know if it will make that much of a difference for you, but its worth a try

So, there's a lot of people claiming these drivers don't work for them. Can anyone confirm they have installed these over the stock Dell drivers on a R4 without issue?

Also, what are the benefit of the modded drivers over AMD's? The 7970M is my first AMD card in a long while so I've never used modded drivers before. Thanks!

I'd say installing over Dell stock is the best way to do it.

From what i can read, the modded drivers contain:

    Unlocked Temporal AA
    Unlocked High Quality AF
    Unlocked Geometry Instancing
    Unlocked LOD option
Unlocked Adaptive Anti-Aliasing Quality Slider (can be buggy)
Unlocked Test Custom Clocks and Auto-Tune options under OverDrive

    Im using AMD's 12.8.

I dont think many people with an r4 (7970m) are having issues, it is mainly with r3 people, who have the 6990m that are seeing issues (like me).

Sherrypizza, when you try and install the 12.8 whql drivers, do you get a bsod with an error issue on the bottom saying "Atikmpag.sys" file was the file with the issue? Just wondering to see if we have similar issues for our 6990m. Also did you try mobility 12.8 as well?

I can confirm the 12.8 drivers don't like the 6990m. I got a BSOD during install and corrupted my system. Atleast I finally had a reason to do a fresh windows install lol.

Always create a manual restore point before trying any new driver, if it wont work, restore it back from safe mode to save yourself from hassle of installing windows all over.

I had a restore point, it got corrupted lol. 6990M owners, should I install 12.4 or 12.6 for best results?

Edit: BSOD with 12.8 and 12.6
12.4 it is. AMD isn't being too kind to the 6900 family lately

I also have BSOD with 12.8 (Hp DV6T Quad with HD6770M). Tried all common combinations to update the driver. 12.7 beta installed fine though, but froze Skyrim quite a lot. I never had a problem with 12.4, btw.

EDIT: sorry, its a Dell thread, but maybe someone can suggest something useful

IGP is disabled and I think the link is on the 4th or 5th page. I'd link it for ya, but I'm on my cell. Also, Julient has stated that he is able to get switching working with these modded drivers. Check out his last post on the 7970M install for the R3 thread. Again, I would link it for ya, but on my cell. I did try his fix, but ended up with a BSOD. Hope you have better luck if you try.

Sorry guys, I lied. My screen dim issue wasn't fixed. It appears that it was working, but then when I shut down and turned it back on, I needed to run HWiNFO to fix the issue. My bad....
