    Alienware 17R1 GTX 1080!

    Guys. It's with a heavy heart that I tell you that for at least the Deskmini 1080 it is not going to work in the 17r1. There is some type of issue with displaying gaming graphics to internal screens. After trying 30+ bioses and who knows how many driver versions as well as modifying a chassis it seems that either the card is incompatible with the r1 or it itself is defective which migh be the case as it now does not work in it's original configuration either but that speaks to the quality of the GTX1080 used and it is not encouraging. On to the en1080k if I can recoup any of my losses from this first system.

    Hi EepoSaurus - I'm guessing from your signature that you have a 120hz display and therefore couldn't try the 1080 with Optimus?

    Can you return it to newegg, get a new system, and resell the new system?

    Maybe so. Its a slow process. I did buy it from new egg but through ebay.

    Iam sorry to hear that my friend, but keep your chin up my friend, you will sooner or later get the correct config, instead of the 1080 shoot for a 1060 6gb I bet you could get one of those to work
