I am configuring a M17x on the EPP site and it doesnt give an option for the 240w adapter. But the normal site does. And when I check the option for xfire, it only includes the 150w adapter...

    @ Twitchy_Eye - Congrats! Happy for you.

Is your screen evenly white when viewing a blank page? My screen is sort of very slightly greenish on the left and reddish towards the left. Wondering if this is to be expected...

The new bios A05 shows a fix for an issue with Dual Broadway XT cards (5870's) in the release notes. I just installed it, VT is back as an option in the bios. I'd imagine we can expect Crossfire 5870's pretty soon.

@ Crylo - Ok. have GPU-Z downloaded. Will post the vbios tomorrow. Will GPU-Z work in a 64bit environment? For CPU-Z there is a 64 bit version.

Hey guys, is your screen evenly white when viewing a blank page?

My screen is sort of very slightly greenish on the left and reddish towards the left. Wondering if this is to be expected... I remember crt monitors used to have this slight discoloration. I didn't think LCDs would have them too as its not obvious on my V3000.

If you have it in direct light, sometimes the RGB colors get distorted. You might also want to look into using a color profile. There's a thread for it around here. I'll edit this post later on when I find it if you haven't by then.

It's just a glitch from using the online configuration. If you select crossfire cards or the 920xm processor you *will* receive the 240psu.

maybe in the configuration page as I suggested, however it's impossible to run 4870's on a 150W PSU, he has (or will have) the 240W.

Right.. Got it downloaded. However, coz my M17 is sleeping soundly at home i will only be able to post come Monday morning. (or Sunday night if your location is US West Coast). If somebody else who received their M17 in the last couple of days can post their VBIOS sooner it would be great.

it is so tempting to sell my R1 and go for dual 5870's but i've done so much work on this r1 already and it performs flawlessly. I just dont think its worth the risk of selling a solid perfectly working laptop and risk getting one that ends up having issues.

It's worth it. Especially for the tessellation, I would sell the R1 and upgrade to the R2 once dual 5870's become available if I were in your place.

I have to agree, like Joker said, by the time Games are taking advantage of Directx11, it's going to be time to upgrade anyway. Which is why even though I recieved my CF 4870 laptop today, im going to keep it. The notebook sector moves way too fast to try to keep up with. Unless you have the capital to make a new purchase every few months.

Yup, the dual 5870s will be great benchmarking tools but in real world gaming, the difference will be so minor to most they'll wonder why they waited so long. Plus I'm not too fond of the hot GDDR5 on those things. I'll still probably pick one up but for those of you with dual 4870s, DX11 is not a compelling reason to trade up.

I really want a Silver M17x, and my girlfriend wants a Black M17x, there are a few benefits to me buying a new one. 1 is my girlfriend getting my almost new R2 for a very good price, over 500 less than her buying a new one. 2 is me getting the dual 5870's and 3 is the Lunar Silver.

I'm still waiting on this also. It's hard to believe no one with a 5870 has tried this yet. To me that would've been one of the main reasons to get some 5870's.
