Someone had that issue, and Ted for HIDevolution told him that he will send him a UK adapter along with the psu, so maybe you can ask the same.
But in any case such a plug adapter is really cheap, you can get it for £10 or even less

Wonder if he'll replace the keyboard too.

    Not that it's important.

    Might ask this as well.

Also anyone thinks the thermal paste is needed?

That is not even HID fault. HID can only order the USA plug/adapter from Dell. And yeah the conversion adapters are really cheap.

If you're going to do some serious benchmarking then thermal paste is needed to keep your temperatures cool, but for gaming you should be okay with the standard paste

Yeah defrinitely not HID's fault, nobody's fault really, the machine comes with the standard US plug as it should since you're ordering from the US, so it's really nice from HID to include the UK adapter for whoever asked for it

    That's good to hear.

My heart keeps telling me to move my cpu from 2720qm to 2920xm but my brain quickly stops that. :D

I'm surprised Dell are not giving the option of a bluray burner though weird that.

You mean bluray writer I presume. Yeah really weird, it was removed from the R2's configuration some months ago and never made it back to the R2 nor the R3 for some unknown reason.
Who's not thinking about the 2920xm :D ? But for its price tag surely it's a no go as far as I'm concerned :(

Unless you are some hardcore bencher, i really don`t think the 2920XM is worth it since 2720QM is more than enough processing power to play games fluently at highest details. Most games rely on the GPU anyway and since the R3 feature the 6970M you have more than enough :)

    Yea, that's what I meant.

Agreed not sure why they do not bring it back.

It stretches my budget for sure but it's more of the fact that I'm planning to get a ssd so that mainly stops the thinking.

Also given it's not on Dell's spec I rather not take any risks if some problem happens. Sure the HID will take care of it but surely we'll have to send it back which would be costly on it's own. Unlike 272o/2820 cpu which we can get dell to help under warranty.

If Dell already had that option I might have considered it.

2820 seems a bad deal given the performance between 2720 and 2820 is not that great to justify the price. So the only option is 2920.

I would also like a european keyboard aka norwegian. For the last 5 years i have been using US keyboard but since you can change the settings in Windows and memorize which key represent what, it has been working for me.
Would love it if HIDevolotion could install it for us :)

If it's like the M11x one it'll be the other type of three pronged connector on the end - not the standard PC one.

Ah, shame that but still no big deal. I can easily get used to any keyboard as long as I don't pay what Dell wants. :D

One thing might also be the timezones but it seems to be one man busieness.

Also looking at the warranty I understand the advanced which is hardware and accidental. That is similar to UK one as well.

Need to know what premium does.

Thats the cord I have on my R2 so if its the same, your laughing. Dont know if the R3 psu has a different IEC connector to fit the "female" on the psu itself.

My payment came true. Now its in production. Wil take about 10 days I guess for Dell to build it. Maybe 14 days for HID to receive it from Dell.

Can somebody with a R3 post a picture of the powerbrick. I need to know what kind of connector goes in there.

I asked some question to Ted and yea no uk keyboard but he will add in the uk power adapter.

Also I'm still waiting for Vertex 3 to come and he said as soon as it's released he will make it avaliable. So I was planning to get the standard 320gb anyway. If the vertex makes it in time then he will upgrade it for me.

I did ask to check if 1tb hard drive can fit in the second hard drive he said he will see what he can do.

Anyway going to order it today and hopefully everything works out.

This will probably make lots of you laugh and point.
To test if the service is good I'm going to order a Razer Naga from them :p i know its not exactly a laptop but I was going to get 1 anyway so why not test Hidevolution out and get a ... preview product?

One thing I must say tho, Ted replies really fast even to fickle and easy to google questions.

They seem a little slow to answer emails but on the online chat the answers are there instantly.

They offered me a UK adapter and gave me an update on the order status and gave me the estimated delivery date from Alienware.

    Quite reassuring really.

I also made them aware of this thread.

They charge for shipping fee on the checkout that will depend on which one you will choose like fedex.

Apart from that the only thing you pay is the custom fee when it reaches here.

Anyone have any idea what the import taxes would be to China? I really want to order an r3 but I'm almost never in the states anymore and it would be really hard for me to try to get one shipped at the right time I could pick it up in the states. If not, how would I go about finding out? My chinese is ~

    I did.
I ordered from hidevolution, shipment via FedEx to Romania, Europe and I paid taxes on the declared value (which the seller sets on the shipped item)
(just VAT because I ordered on individual, or would have been VAT+customs if i order on company). For example here VAT is 24%, pretty hefty :p

I paid for fedex and for some reason I got an UPS email today with this:
My order status say 'processing' and I even phoned my bank and they said the money has gone but it's not been taken yet by Ted.

So, I'm really surprised that I got this email.

I sent a e-mail to Ted will see what's happening. He'e been offline for a while.

Hers a handy little tool that lets you work out vat/duty when importing. You can choose any location to import from and any destination to import to.

It may not be 100000% accurate but its a good way to get an idea i reckon.
