I use profiles and not load up the settings when Windows loads. This allows you to change them only when they're needed.

Tried evrything and i jus cant pass 3.2..max only 3.125
-
-
Yes the higher multiplies are less stable.
-
-
I immediately crash at those settings, I can't even get to mydesktop and that is with a cooler underneath as well.
Before you posted that, I tried just changing the multiplier and I can get to 2.93 but no higher. I used Arctic Silver 5, which has a cure time, should I try again in a few weeks? I'm not sure how cure time works.
Regardless, I'm pretty happy with as fast as it is, of course we all know how it is to want to push our system to the limit -
It's not the heat that's causing instability. If you want to keep trying start with the default multiplier and keep pushing the fsb but make sure the fsb and memory speeds are linked at 1:2. If you max that out then start over with a higher multiplier and keep testing in that fashion.

That's right! I forgot about the bios.
-
I'm running the latest bios A01
What does 1:2 mean as far as FSB and memory?
Also, I got a QX9300 from the same batch as Mandrake so I have high hopes! -
lol flash to A00 BIOS n try
-
-
That's easy enough, thanks for the explanation.
-
It technically means the DRAM speed is running at twice the speed of the FSB but I wanted to put it in terms that relates to the discussion.
-
I flashed my bios back to A00, set my multiplier to 10, my FSB and memory to 1280, bluescreened before I hit windows.
-
I would find your highest, stable fsb first.
Then find the highest, stable multi. -
will go back to stock multipler (9.5x) and try raising the fsb incrementally. -
-
-
i tried to set my multiply 11.5 to get 3.07 and ran SF4 Benchmark, i can get around 110 Fbs. instead of set the fsb and mem to 1230 to get 3.07. the perfomance seen to be improve much and i can get 122 fbs in SF 4 benchmark.

sorry you just confused me.
11.5x+3.07ghz=110 or
1230+3.07ghz=122
vice versa -
sorry for my poor english -
Is there any switch to clear cmos?
I cant log in to windows after 3 times of failed overclocking.
Thanks -
-
Any other ideas? -
Try it again. If it doesn't work pull the system battery and boot off of just the AC power.
If it still doesn't work then you'll need to pull the cmos battery. -
I already pull the cmos battery for 5 minutes, and i put it back on.. still wont work, please help me.. frustrating here..
-
So your computer is still not posting?
-
-
So clearing the cmos then won't help. Do you have a raid configured system?
-
Yes i do have the 1tb Raid 0, what is that gotta do wit this?
-
you cleared your raid config and that's why it won't boot. You need to go into the bios and fix it.
-
I need help with that Raid thing, possible if you might know how to fix it?
What should i do now? -
This is what i do to clear cmos..

Advanced > SATA Operation, change it to RAID
Advanced > NV RAID Configuration > NV RAID Configuration, change it to enable. In the same place change SATA Port 0 & 3 to enable.
Save & Exit. -
-
It works like a charm..
How do i thank you?
You are my HERO!!!!!
I'm going to give all the credit to you only.
Thanks again... -
No problem. enjoy.

same thing here, the most i can do i 2.93 by changing multiplier to 11.
The rest i leave it Auto, i didn't dare to change anything simply because i don't understand any of it.
Kindda wish i can push it up just a little bit more.. -
Question.
Lets say 2.93 is the highest stable clock you can get by either increasing the multiplier only or by just doing the fsb and leaving the multiplier at stock.. which one should you go with?
I understand fsb clock more than just processor but was just curious what the preference would be. -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
try different combinations to see what you come up with. try just pumping the fsb and see what you get.
i would try 10x and pump the fsb and see how far you get. -

dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
your score is high in general at that res!!!!!!!!!
woah your cpu is rocking. i want what you have
break 4900 -

dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
Ok never mind lmao i should of gave you something higher to beat. i don't want to say 5000 though.
your on a role. i have no tips for you. -
Hey Quadzilla when you had your W90 didn't you pass 17k?
EDIT: NVM I thought you were using an M17x... -
Quad thats a M17 right?
What is the temp of your CPU after 2 or 3 of that test, just curious.
How to overclock the QX9300 processor on the new M17x?
