M17x (**Europe**) Order Status Discussion

8 days =/= 2 weeks? ??? Yeah, okay...

Anyway, the screens aren't the issue. They're not on backorder. If that was true, people who ordered on the first day would have their systems by now. Or someone in Europe. People have to have got the initial stock for them to now be experiencing delays. This isn't the case. Maybe they're addressing the screen bleeding issue, but that's got nothing to do with them being on backorder.

 

So we have Dell's word vs. yours on the whole screen out of stock issue....I wonder who I'll trust for now.

 

I'm not saying I have a verdict or have some secret information as to what is going on. But they haven't shipped any in Europe (or so it seems) and you're willing to believe they're on backorder? Rofl.

 

Richjuk23 are you related to Dell or something? i really respect everyone's opinion but some things are simply obvious.

Has anyone is the UK been able to have his name engraved on the name plate or it was just generic? I was told that it is not available in UK..

 

it has been referred before yes. European line of production decided not to offer this service. one more proof of their different behaviour. if you would like to label your name template take it somewhere to do it for you. At least i hope it says m17x .

 

Hm, that's weird, because according to my rep, I'm getting my name engraved... (dell fr)

 

Europe does not get Name tags.

so it seems everything will go fine and you will be the first to get it. the screen maybe the backorder as i see you have the 1400x900 one and not the hd full. i will wait to tell you congrats as you get it .

Or can you only see about billing notofication received?

 

so is the UPS responsible for delivery in Europe? do they really send message to mobile phones regarding the exact date and time of delivery?

I'm really getting very annoyed with this. I have an EDD of 10th of July and mine is still in production (which phase I dont know, and none of the reps or managers of Dell NL can tell me.

 

Well they better hurry, guess they have have to drop it by parachute if they want it delivered on the 2nd of July.

Not posted before though I read the forums daily, ordered the M17X on the 15th June and it arrived at home today in the UK via UPS. Not sure why others are experiencing delays as mine went to shipping last week and the came from Poland on friday to the UK yesterday.

Now the fun of transferring all my data from the old Dell 9100 laptop.

 

What config did u order? When did u get your order confirmation? Did you order by telephone or on the website?

Order confirmation was for 17th or 22nd July originally, then last Monday I checked and it was Billing Details sent for last Thursday delivery which never happened, just glad it arrived today. Originally I ordered twice on the net, but Verified (or not...!) by Visa screwed my order so I rang and a guy called Sam processed the order manually to the same specs and put through my payment sucessfully.

ROFL. I cannot believe you got your m17x after ordering on the 15th. You went through a rep called Sam? Without meaning to be racist, were they Indian?

 

some people in here are trying to reverse the negative impression they have created or they just making fun of the situation.. everyone who understands knows what i mean.

 

I just believe what I can see and the mail with an UPS link seems very real to me.

I understand your frustration. I was in your situation until yersterday

 

We have almost same config apart from processor. I ordered initially on the 3rd got cancelled by Dell on the 17th re-ordered on the 18th cancelled again then suddenly system went in production.
And its in production for 2 weeks tomorrow. I simply dont understand anything anymore.

 

same for me dirk and I took the same CPU and i'm in France

 

you are the only one look real. i doubt only for your phase and if its real regarding the Dell. this fast change of the order status after you requested to cancel the order looks even more suspicious.

 

The bottom edge of the screen has some light bleed but not a big issue for me as I had a normal screen before on my old 9100, the gloss finish is a big improvement. Getting an odd buzzing noise from the power jack where it plugs into the machine. Will keep an eye on it and see if it improves. Alienware lighting etc is great, managed to lose the SLI earlier by switching to normal 9400 mode, Farcry2 was struggling!! until I found how to re enable it.

These are the tracking movements over the last few days from UPS

7 days between billing information and first scan... I guess they get billing information at the last stage of Phase 3. It took only 2 days to bring your package from NL to UK.

 

My M17x has been sent yesterday....I live in France...I have the tracking number and i have purchase my M17x the 22/06/2009, here is the following spec:
Space Black
Q9000
Sli GTX260M
4Go DDR3
160Go 7200Tpm

 

My order status still hasn't updated. It almost looks like only GTX 280M orders are delayed.

 

I originally ordered on the 16 June..order was canceled..then changed to 22 June with an EDD of the 8 July. On the dell page my order is still in phase 3 since the 22nd!!!! I hope they deliver it on time because i booked a flight home to collect it and that's going to be a waste of €350 if they don't!!!!

 

my EDD is still 8th of July! im still in phase 3 since 22nd of June, ill give it to 3rd or 4th for it to change to boxing, and if its not ill phone and see whats up =)

 

i told you join the end of July club. your specs cant be delivered until your EDD.

i suspect that the missing parts are now the gtx280m s. you have them then? then you wont be able to get it except if you want it without the gpus.

By the way Dell changed the old saying of demand and expectation. Dell now states that ordering parts according to the orders. this means that they order the parts after you make the order. So even every new order will have this huge delay except if the supplier has a real huge storage of all parts and sends them immediately. that makes sense and was the real story from the beginning. So Dell and us are depending on when the supplier will be willing to send the parts.

In fact we cant talk about missing parts as Dell is not storing the parts somewhere.Dell orders the parts after order. So we should say parts that are not easily sent to Europe from the supplier (nvidia maybe) Happy summer.

 

dude u said that about EVERY UK m17x... and u were wrong about them. there already being delivered, my friend just got his on july 1st, with same spec as mines but with 8 gig. just coz urs wont come dont means mines wont
