    Congratulations!

    Same config as mine. Been waiting 4 weeks now. 2 weeks in phase 2 and 2 weeks in phase 3. Still no movement.
    Maybe those who have to wait this long come from the same factory as where those for the US are being made?

    Yes i said that for evey m17x in UK. It seems that some limited parts (probably of lower specs) came and a little bit more in France. This doesnt reverse what i said as some should some should f.ucking come sometime.

    mine was ordered one week before yours. and i doubt if somebody in UK was able to get it in 15 days. just doubt. so your friend has sli gtx280s?

    and Shuya was going to have it at 2th of July according to his EDD (which i think remains that way until now) and his is now in the end of July club as his rep told him.

    France seems to be the next US

    i really hope you get it though so i can give some sh.t to them and my rep actually who stopped ansering my emails. God there is no other laptop like that so as to cancel my order? see ya next week dude ;)

    As i had feared....the dell status page for my order has changed AGAIN!!!! Now it tells me that my order has gone into production on the 3rd July not 22nd June and my freakin EDD is now 28th July!!! So basically i wasted €250 on a flight i had to cancel to collect my laptop on the original EDD which was 3rd July...now my second flight which cost €350 is also a waste of time!!! When my sales rep assured me they would make the delivery date of th 8th i should have known better!!! Chances are i will be in Ruyadh on the 28th July....and im sure as hell not buying a ticket back to Ireland to collect itfrom there!!! Looks like i may have to cancel my order...i suppose dell will loose out on €5300...but i suppose to them thats nothing!!!!

    Well i guess everyone was right! the fuking EDD is now july 29th.... i just phoned to either cancel my order or get money compensation off... they said they would phone me back in 30 mins with a supervisor. If i can get like £150 off ill be happy ;) coz i already got it down from £3890 to £3300 ;p

    How the hell did you manage to get such a discount....i didn't even know you could haggle...the only thing they gave me was an upgrade on my warranty and accidental damage from 3 years to 4!!! Also...the sales rep by lying to me has cost me about €550 in flights!!! So you think i can get anything off the price at this stage..my final price was €5,321 (£4,553 /$7,446)??? :(

    It seemed quite easy to get a discount when ordering, I told them the price I was willing to pay and they got it down even more, I didn't have to insist and they apologised for not being authorized to offer a better deal :eek:
    I doubt you can get anything off the price at this point, you would probably have to cancel and reorder.

    adrian890, sorry for you, I hope they'll do something for you that will make you forget their delays ;)
    BTW, how did you see it was delayed, did you have to call or the EDD was updated on the website? (I'm in the same situation)

    For me, after the first cancellation my order status was shown on the web site. It was shown as being in production in phase 3...where it stayed until today where it updated to the later production and EDD!!! I think if i canceled the order now and reordered i would still have the laptop on the same date....maybe that's an option!!!!

    My order status didn't move. Well it moved once 2 weeks ago, when it moved from 21st of July to 29th !

    thanx mate. Basically the supervisor phoned me and he said he will phone alienware department straight away and find what is the actual delay with the specific order and get back to me within 2 hours. ( he was bascially buttering me up since i phoned to perhaps cancel the order ;P) so ill see if he can either fast track me again or get some cash off =)

    Id be far more angry but im off to buy the new samsung LED 1inch thin TV today so im slightly less in a mood :eek: im just easily pleased clearly lol

    Yes, my EDD is still showing July 2nd, but my rep didn't move my new EDD to the end of July, I told him I won't be back in the country until July 21st. He kept asking me if someone else could be at my house to take the delivery, hinting it'd be delivered while I'd be away.

    For me it's all clear. Now that my EDD of July 10th is only one week away Customer Care all in a sudden says: "Well, it is only a expected date and it can be one or two weeks later. First they told me I was on schedule for delivery on the 10th but now they are not so sure anymore.
    And all in a sudden my rep went home sick again.
    They simply dont know what story to put up anymore here in the Netherlands.

    Again i hate when i come true. So everybody here seems to have joined end of July group. I am terribly afraid of extra delays guys. They say they cant assure the new EDD but people of Dell will work hard to get it on or before the new EDD. does this mean something for you? not for me. I better shut up and hope this wont happen.

    I am very sorry for the guy who lost money for his flight because his rep assured him he will get it on 8th of July. My rep told me that mine was shipped at 22 of June! Thus telling me to ignore the online order status that was still saying in production. Then told her to recheck and then after i called her (i waiting for an email which never came) she told me its in production.What else can i believe after this? As i said before i dont have any special problem except from the delay itself as i will be here.

    The conclusions are yours for the CHAOS inside Dell. It maybe more responsibility of the supplier (s) than Dell itself but who cares? Dell should be ready to face the number of orders, be able to assure the initial EDD by having stock of parts or know that they will be sent on time. This shows highly unresponsive people who only care for the money. I personally feel nice when i see you cancelling your orders not because i may get mine faster (i really doubt that) but because they get what they deserve. If i had to leave from here for vacation or anything or there was something comparable to m17x i would have cancelled mine as soon as i learned the new EDD.

    sorry but this will never happen mate especially for companies born in US and manufactures linked in US like nvidia which i think is the cause. Even if the manufacturer is linked in an other country Dell gives priority to US apparently.

    But i dont know what kind of priority is this. Until when? orders in US for this machine will continue.. so what will come in europe?

    Do you know how accurate the Dell order page is?
    Im asking because my EDD is still showing as 22/07, but after
    speaking to my rep, ive been told that it has been despatched and i should
    receive it next week :confused:

    Has anybody else received their order when on the Dell order page it is still shown as being in production?

    if you see a few posts above i said that my rep told me that mine was invoiced and dispatched on 22 of june. She looked so sure about that and also telling me to ignore the order status . She almost persuaded me until i contacted customer service. apparently this was fake and i am still in production with EDD of 22 july like you. i wonder if this fake info of dispatching is a common practise to avoid cancelling the orders. What else could these people think? they should better spend their time to get the parts.

    just for confirmation or not contact customer service.

    Half-agreed, Alienware gets US priority definitely, the actual dell website I disagree, to me they seem just as competitive and well priced. There are certainly other companies that I think of that treat anywhere which isn't in the US as second class citizens, blaming exchange rates on their failures.

    Just wait...I know it's hard but they are beginning to send the orders...look there's already 3 french who have their M17x....Maybe it's just the keyboard who weren't in stocks.

    The same goes for Holland too, and I think the entire Europe. Just compare prices af the various CPU and Graphics upgrades. They are double of the US prices.

    Mine is scheduled for delivery on the 10th of July. Dont think they gonna make it though. I want some answers next Monday. If not they can stuff it.

    After all, we could order them at the same time.


    BTW: Is there any any news if these 3 also have screen issues? And are these 3 all 1440x900 screens?

    My order status changed this morning from 7/9 to 7/31 as I was expecting (but not as late as that) :rolleyes:

    Now I have to wait until monday to cancel my order (I won't be in town by then and for 6 months) :mad:

    France. I guess it could be the screen, however I called another rep to try to make a new order, and they told me it was the chassis. I said fine I'll get silver then but they said it was also backordered...I guess they'll never give us real information.

    EDIT: they also changed the changed the day when production started to today

    Just checked the Dell website and the price for the same specification i originally ordered the price has dropped from €5,321 to €5210. Also now the site says that Windows Vista Ultimate is eligable for Windows 7 upgrade. Considering the new edd i have been given is the 28th July and i ordered on the 16th it looks like i could cancle my order, get at least €110 without haggling, and still revieve my laptop arounf the same time as my current edd. Maybe some other people here with delayed edd's should recheck the Dell website and see if the reduction in price also applies to them!!?? Personally i wouldnt have minded the extra €110 if there hadnt been so many delays!!!

    Well they won't make the 10th of July for my order (Surprise, Surprise!). My rep just told me. Apart from an extra lead-time of 2 weeks for a new system some parts still seem to be missing. He couldn't tell me which parts though, but they are expected everyday now. He will call me back with a new date.
    He also offered an extra discount of 100 Euros. Im still planning on cancelling though.

    how is it possible to offer you a discount as long as you have made the order and especially before weeks? they will return 100 euros back? i dont think so! looks another Dell trick to me.

    by the way all these weeks i am waiting i received so many discount codes to my email that i could save thousand of euros. No Dell i want only one laptop and you were not able to send it on time. thanks very much

    everything on m17x is the same for US and Uk except the keyboard characters. so you could ask in owners thread in which are all from US. as i know you need to order a set to be able to install a second hdd. this is the reason i ordered two hdd even though i will replace one of them. You can order the set from Dell but i doubt how helpful they will be in opposition to US reps.

    My latest story is that ive been waiting for a month since my initial order.
    I was told last week that it was being "despatched" and now...............
    you guessed it...............cancelled.

    I rang Dell earlier today to find out what happened, and i spent about 45mins on the phone whilst speaking to about 20 people who all said they were putting me through to my Rep - for the record none of them managed it, its tricky i know. Dell is like one big sitcom....the worlds unfunniest sitcom.

    This is all pretty spectacular stuff from Dell.

    Tried to change order or cancel because of 2nd HDD bracket, told to receive order then send it back. stupid system.
    Have now got UPS tracking number with delivery date of 9th July

    Moved into stage 5 this morning and my EDD has also vanished it was originally 22/7. Ordered on the 19/6 wasn't too fussed about getting it earlier or later than my EDD.

    Space Black, WUXGA 1920x1200, Core 2 Quad Q9000, 4GB RAM, 2x Geforce GTX 280 SLI.

    So yeah, the WUXGA screens and Space Black chassis seem to finally be shipping in Europe now. :)
