Geez dude... you think you could at least come up with your own description of 186.82 or at least credit the source. Nice copy and paste job from my blog post. ROFL - sad man... just sad.

    3rd paragraph, 3rd sentence

Tried these new 186.82 drivers, I'm running Win 7 64bit and dual 260ms with hybrid disabled.

The 186.12 drivers installed fine but when I try to install these I just get no valid device found?

    Fairey:

Once you have downloaded and extracted the 186.82 driver from LV2Go, look inside the directory for the 'Additional INFs' .zip archive.

Extract this and copy/paste the 'nv_whql.inf' into the top level of the 186.82 directory.

Once this is done, run the setup.exe app to install. This is required for the driver to recognize the hardware in the M17x. The default INF (nvfu.inf) does not support the M17x GPUs.

Yup going to try reseating the HDD1 drive tonight and worst case I'll have to revert to the original drive which I may do anyway to see if it solves my SLI issues running the factory installed Vista 64, first I need to do some Vantage benchmarks and screen shots with GPUz :) Late night for me!

Did you try to switch between AHCI and ATA in the bios? I had freezing issues with my SSD and switching to ATA resolved them. (I could run in AHCI but with a driver that didn't support TRIM)

Cool thanks. Im actually trying to get this damn thing to push ALL 6 speakers, but it keeps treating my setup like a 2.1 One driver will use the woofer and 2 rear speaksers, the slightly newer one actually uses the front spekers, but I need all 6 at once. Was hoping v6.1 was it but it didnt get through.

Your an amazingly helpful member keep it up! :D

Ive got that third driver now (its name.exe was part of the dead link, googled it)
It correctly detects that all 3 plugs are is use, but still wont emit a 5.1 signal. (Still emitting pseudo-2.1 signal)

do we need the audio patch with the latest audio driver (6.10)?

    and

does the nvidia driver 186.82 supports hybrid sli?

So far, none of the audio drivers work properly for me, but its supposed to be Windows 7's fault. On Vista, v6.1 is likely advisable.

As for hybrid SLI, its often found that including a 9400 in a dual 260 or 280 setup causes problems, so many people just turn the integrated chip off altogether through the BIOS.

However, it may very well be caused by a driver weakness not knowing what to do with hybrid. Maybe that can fix it.

I tried 186.82 now. hybrid sli works but what i see is that the sound stucks randomly on specific games and generally a serious decrease of fps on all games. and this is on vista ultimate sp2. i personally return to dell beta drivers. its the only one with hybrid sli support and good fps.

i think we should wait for win7 driver from dell. latest drivers like the osd and the a02 bios are optimized for win7 support. so i think we are on a good way.

finally i think that these problems came with the new bios and not the nvidia driver. do you have the same issues with the new bios?

Mmm I had this problem too and I can't remember how I resolved it. I know I tried to boot into safemode and changed the drivers from NVIDIA ones to microsoft ones but I also did other things. Anyway, you shouldn't have to reinstall (at least I didn't have to).

I dont believe so. I did not run the audio patch when I reinstalled the current audio driver and have had no issues. If you encounter issues with webcam audio (mic), just run the patch. The patch was to correct audio distortion when recording audio.

Finally it was the nvidia driver 186.82 causing a whole range of problems, from sound stucking randomly and fps decreasing. i tried to install previous dell drivers (performance and the initial one) but it didnt solve the problem. i had to format. now everything ok with new bios.

do you have the same problems with the nvidia 186.82 drivers?

I had problems with 186.91 switching from boost to power save. I went back to 186.82, but if no one else has any issues with .91 I might try and go back.

This driver rocks! i reached over 70fps on crysis on gamer specs while the middle fps are around 40! amazing! and no problems at all like with the 186.82.

please post new drivers if you find even newer.

    thanks!

Installed .91 again and this time switching back and forth between power/boost is working, however performance is about 500points less in vantage than .82 was.

    switching back.......

I also saw a bit of reduced performance (both in-game as well as benchmark runs) with .91 and have reinstalled .82. Would be nice to see a changelog from MS included with the driver but I wont hold my breath ;)

k, so i did a clean install of windows 7 and i was reinstalling all of the drivers, ive had no issues except for with the alienware command center, it only puts the alienFX and the touch options in and the fusion and sense just dont show up at all in it.

    any ideas?

on another note also sincei installed it the battery reads 66% full, plugged in and not charging for the entire time, any advice is appreciated.

Fusion and sense are missing from mine as well. Can't explain it.
I didnt even realize until yesterday, because the Vista installation that came stock with the machine was running so bad that I could not get Alien Command Center to start at all, So I had never seen those options until I stumbled across a screenshot somewhere.
