M17x Lighting fx themes!

Aight, heres my theme! It changes the color when you open firefox, limewire, google chrome, and itunes. It's still a work in progress though, but i think you'll like it!

In regards to your Rainbow theme.

Hey there Moo, my friend downloaded this theme and loves it. He wants to know if it's also possible to make the speakers, mouse pad, power button, Alienware logo and media lights change too all at the same time with the keyboard.

For those of you interested in subdued lighting from the LEDs, I've put together two different themes. Basic only - not advanced.

Reduced_Illumination is ok but I really like the LowPower_Blue. Anyway... here they are.

 

Here's mine. Blue - to - Red cycling. Speakers and Alienware logo also switch colors.

I need to thank you bad boy for the dark theme. I use it to keep the alien heads black and the rest is neon green. i like the fact that i can close my lid and that it looks stealth. Also the damm powercord stays blue so there is no way i can match it with a full green theme or full red theme for example. whish i could change that damm.

 

No worries Evil. I don't have time until the weekend, but I'll tweak each of the colors for that low lighting effect and then post them when finished so there is a range of choices. re: the power cord.

Would you be able to start a new "lighting fx theme" thread, along with re-editing your rainbow theme so its compatible with the new command centre.

We will continue to use this thread for AlienFX theme files. The existing themes already contributed will have to be reworked. I'll upload my revised themes this weekend.

Rainbow theme was not mine I found it ... I posted somewhere I didn't do it ..., to lazy

the codes are easy to learn ... Maybe one day when I feel like making a guide to edit your own themes I'll post it up .... just not feeling it now and school is killing me

 

Attached theme is an All Dark theme - everything is switched off/set to black. It's an Advanced Theme so it should make a nice jump off point for those who want to tweak it using the AlienFX GUI. Be aware, if you change the Touchpad and Media Strip you will have to manually change the hex color values again as you cannot set these to black/off via the GUI. To change the values manually, I recommend using Notepad++ for editing. It’s the best/most versatile source code editor in my opinion.

Created with v2.0.10 of Command Center (new version released 10/09/09). This will not load on older versions of CC.

I'll repost mine for the new CC this weekend when I get some free time. First I have to get through my long list of programs I had my lights change for.

 

im having issues with my alien fx. Its says that there is a communication problem between the pc and the alien fx control. also that it is probably an error caused by installing the software on a pc without proper hardware support which isnt the case.

 

Did you just update command center? If so, try this:

If not and this is on the new command center, try getting into the AlienFX config area and close the current theme. Create a new basic theme and then save. See if that works.

If you are unable to enter AlienFX and change the theme, fall back and use the link I posted above to reinstall.

 

yeah it was the theme giving issues, next time i know to change it before updating. thx yet again

 

Work in progress but heres what I have so far for the new command center.


I've got lighting themes for new email, MS Word, Excel, and my personal fav Divx player. But the Divx player does have a minor bug...the lights sometimes flash when there not suppose to. You'll understand me when you check it out for yourself.

 

Heres an idea for programmers/alienware. The ability to pulsate between colours. Example: have it flash red, blue, red, blue....ect

 

Is there a way to make a lighting FX for when someone logs onto AIM or MSN?

 

You can actually. just do maultiple ctions. for example have a led zone do a blue pulse then a red one then a yellow one.

 

That is all very simple just add an action (advanced mode only) and browse to live messenger. every time you use or open messenger the chosen colour or pulse starts, not really hard

 

i did have a theme that did that, but i have to remake it. give me some time and ill put one up

^^^ Thats not what I mean. Using the alienware name for example...

Normal Pulsating goes like this: red, black, red, black (On, off, on, off)

Instead of black (off), substitute it with another color such as blue.

 

you would have to mod the theme file

 

HI, Just bought a new M15x however it looks like you can't use the M17x *.ath themes. I really like this threads however I wondered if you're able to convert them or know of any other threads for the M15x ??

The themes will be different between the two models since they have different keyboards. As to converting them, I guess you could do it. The quick and dirty way would be to open up a M17x theme file and a M15x theme file in notepad++ and then do a compare - the different sections will be marked and then you will need to figure out which to remove.

Short answer unless you want to play with the .xml = Nope sorry.

 

Hey batboy, i just finished playing overlord and i when i started the game my alien fx turned pink and green but the thing was that one speaker was green and one was pink. did you know that was possible? Think you can do that?

 

Thank third party AlienFX support for that one. Someone really needs to compile a list of games which have AlienFX support.

Yes, you can set the speakers for different colors in any theme file you create. You will have to edit the .xml manually.

It would be cool if you could do it without morphing. Thats the trick i need for my favorite themes.

on blue and red speaker the media color will change the right speaker

and the left keyboard will change the touch pad on the morphing left and right

Boo, none of them work for me. Just keeps throwing the old"The theme could not be opened.", even when dropping them into the themes folder. You guys all running Windows 7 or something maybe?
