Use EPP if at all possible. If not then the Blackhawk team.

No dice, replacement card fixed a lot of the major issues, but I am getting a jittery screen in game every once in a while. In fact the screen will move really quickly to the left, right, up or down every once in a while in game.

I just uninstalled/reinstalled the ATI dell drivers. I am about to try out the 10.3 drivers, but wanna check to see if maybe the tech reverted my bios for any dumb reason. I will report back with my findings.

Well, here in Aussie land I ordered 4 days ago and my status has not moved from 'Order Received'. It says that I should have an EDD within 3 days but apparently not in my case. Not sure if I should contact my rep or just wait to see what happens. My guess is that I am being delayed by the same things everyone else is, i.e. part shortages.
Did anyone else in Australia have a similar wait time for an EDD?

Just got a e-mail from Dell:

"I got with my resolution specialist about why the order was still in Pre-production. Looks like some of the parts on the system are still out of stock. Once we get all the parts in the system will then hit In Production, which is when they will start the build phase of the system.

Sorry about the inconvenience, hopefully we can get it out to you soon!!"

Don't think mine m17x-R2 will hit the EDD..........

I am sorry if this has been answered. Does it really take a month to get a G17X R2? If so, way? The Graphic card? Just wondering.

You'll never get a straight answer - the customer care reps and service people have almost no clue why things are delayed - everything they say is simply to keep you on the hook and not cancel your order

My unit took 8 weeks from order to delivery (1/17 -> 3/19)

If you really want this laptop my best advice is close your eyes, go about your daily life, and one day it will arrive

you'll drive yourself nuts watching it everyday, and all the phone calls under the sun won't change anything... trust me...

Well, you can see what the hold up is for any system on Dell's configurator.

I just looked and this is very good news! Yesterday the 4870's hit a 9 day wait but now it came back down.

Mine says In Production when I pull up the actual order page.

What does the phone status tell you? (if you are in the US call 800-283-2210 and press options 4, 2, 1, 1)

Replacement order #3 of my R1 to R2 was finally put through by my customer resolution specialist yesterday. First time they ordered an R1, then they downgraded my screen and graphics card, this time the ram was lowered. Hoping they will just let me swap out the ram myself on arrival as I'm really over the delays. Started this process over a month ago!

ok I think i pissed my rep off some how because I've been emailing him and trying to call him but I get no response through email and I get his voice mail every time I call but then I just tried skype and he finally picks up but I pretended I got the wrong extension because I was in shock that a rep would actively avoid contact with a customer.

You're not making a mistake :) The system will be more than fine for a couple of years and you'll always have a chance to upgrade.

See who's joining the club, hehe.
    Welcome aboard!

How long have most people's systems been in the "build stage"? Mine has been for about 3 days, and I was just curious how long it usually takes.

What part of the US does our Laptops ship from?

Just a thought; Maybe those who are stuck in pre-production ordered a certain component that is out of stock at the moment? That's how it was when I had to wait months for my Car.

^ I lose. But damn! 22 days!?!? I hope mine doesn't get delayed that far.. It sucks because my M15x took a week to arrive.. yet M17x doesn't even go into production after 10 days. During the first week I had my hopes up saying it will come within a week just like my M15x. Sigh.. :(
