Keep them cool. Undervolt if you have to, no need to OC these beasts, set custom fan profile in HwInfo64 with decent fan speeds to keep them even cooler. Use headphones.

 

Not tested this more than a few times but:
When T-stop was running problem was biggest. (high effect on CPU)
Thing is, when running my old 240 i can run games with no T-stop. I had only one shutdown during game with the old 240 today and that was when the computer also was occupied doing installation. Other than that i could play for 1 hour straight without GPU temps hitting 60. CPU hitting low 70's.
The 330 halts every time i try starting a game or benching. I cant even start playing, it stops as soon as everything starts operating at the same time. Temps dont even have time to raise.


Will try some more tests on both PSU's tomorrow.
Measured temps during game is very low.

 

I see. That sucks. If it does this even with Crossfire disabled, that's not normal. I hope you can get it sorted.

i want to check why i get a lower gpu score than nospheratu

The other one has shipping fee of 28 usd, and that makes me have to pay tax for it due to transport costs.
Guess i can use the cable and plug on my old old 240. (ive had 2 off them, one of them is the chip donor, the other one is backup psu)

The reason I chose that specific one was cos I came across another user who purchased it and mentioned that it matched the markings of his connector on his motherboard. It seems to be an original connector as its manufactured by Foxconn.

The one you linked to doesn't look very good honestly. Have a look at the one I bought again. I just checked and the seller also has options under the Shipping and Payments tab for Free International Shipping as well as Standard International Shipping to Norway for 3.99 USD.

 

True. I got 2 of them just in case. They are oryginal sockets for R2 mobo with Foxconn branding on them

ok i have an issue... even in one card (not the Eng. sample one, the other) , i have low gpu score.

There is nothing else i can think of except bios..

 

Yeah, if you're running the same XM settings and drivers it could very well be the vBIOS. Thats around a 300 point loss on GPU score. Your physics score is awesome though.

It's not gonna be easy trying to find another vBIOS to see if your theory is right and we know you're tried all options already but to be perfectly honest, this doesn't matter. Its all about the games really. If you are enjoying your games with smooth framerates, 3Dmark11 results are pointless.

If I was seriously chasing numbers I would have pushed my cards harder to find their limits. All that matters is I'm able to game with high detail settings on a laptop, I don't want to risk that trying to get a massive score and damage my cards... and not be able to do what I bought the cards for in the first place... game

 

ok so because i know that in the past u used my bios and it worked ok for you, is there a chance to persuade you to do a 1 card vbios update and bench? just your 1st one.

you can use the 1.025V one you made for me...

i want to be sure that its the bios. because if its not then i will try to find other reasons . i dont like having my cards not running at the numbers they can..

ALso , can anyone else try a one card becnh? maybe nospheratus m17 is faster than ours...

now i am on par with Nospheratu... but he said he benched with 13.11 Beta 1??

I am afraid to do more benches with the wires hanging naked, i have to put the thing into a small box as i do not want to bend any of those wires and put unnececary strain on the jack pins.

 

Here is one single card bench from me just stopping crossfire.
Cant look at my CPU score, didnt stop all programs and I dont use Tstop at all for this now. I at least want to check my PSU first, running on the old 240 now.

@ Trome71, AlienHacks score was run with 900/1150 clocks on his GPU. Your result is still quite good for stock.

I suggest dropping your voltage on both cards to 0.975V and running the GPU's and XM at stock when using the 240W. Read sangemaru's guide on the first post, it covers everything for optimising this setup.

 

Was thinking about it, and first found that the stock voltage works for me as long as i dont OC the CPU and dont run 3Dmark.
The 017_0950 doesnt allow me to tweak the clocks in catalyst, but then again, im not OC'ing the cards before i've fixed the PSU so why not UV the cards?

Seems our cards behave about the same.

Now with 0950 voltage im going slightly lower, about 200 down for x-fire.

That looks like beta1 from the driver version.

I'll try to run your vBIOS today to see if it makes a difference. I'll post the results here when done.

go in registry as nospheratu said and disable ULPS... if we leave it on it makes a mess , the second cards clocks stuck, you get BSOD when alt-tabing in Crysis 3 etc..

Also BEFORE desabling ULPS install 13,11 beta 7 , it gives even more speed in games and 3dmark scores!!

flingin can you disable crossfire and do a 3d mark 11 run (with one card) at 950gpu and 1150 mem?? with 13.11 beta 7 or beta 1 whatever (just mention which driver you used)

i want to see if my card scores lower OR if nospheratus score higher...



PS. in relevant news, i have AMD - ATI fever...

i sold my whole desktop, i5 760 with nvidia 680 gtx
and in its place i bought an AMD 8350 (8 core ate 4Ghz i will oc to 5Ghz) and 2 7970s to run in crossfire... i really want to see what the score of them will be in 3dmark 11 !!! 25.000 anyone???

i didnt know there is a beta 8!!! even more fps gains?? wha the heck!! in 2 months with 7vrsions of beta drivers released ATI has gained more than 50% fps gains in Crossfire and 7970s

 

I just installed 13.11 v8 and got P9460 in 3dmark 11. So much worse comparing to 13.11 v1

did you go and disable ULPS again??? everytime you install new divers you have to redesable it...

i installed beta 7 yesterday and i had immediately BSOD in alt tabing, so i disabled ULPS...
aso after disabling ULPS and rebooting running MSI AFTERBURNER with the -xcl command and rebooting again makes overdrive available to CCC and gives extra stability for me...

 

Let me try...i did disabled it but i did not restarted my laptop, updates in 5 mins

i think this is still within acceptable variance

I think this might be also CPU related

 

its not cpu because i use 24x and he does also and i have (you also) more cpu speed than him . BUT in gpu speed his cards are faster. in crossfire he gets like 1000+ more points in gpu score!!!

i am not gealous or something, i just want to find whats the reason so we may gain these extra points and FPS... they are free ... why not get them

 

can be anything, 3Dmark systeminfo, core voltage, tesselation, i would not bother, maybe we use different benchmark ?
