well maybe we should try uniegine
tesselation he says he has normal on (auto) in CCC as we do
-
Yeah stock CCC settings apart from OverDrive where I set the clocks.
I don't know either... I thought it may be my CLEVO cards but flingin you're running CLEVO's as well right? -
Yes I am

Hi guys,
Prompt as you adjusted HWINFO64?
When Windows starts and HWINFO64 is started,
I often receive the blue screen and still this HWINFO64 brakes productivity in games and stutter.
Without this program productivity in Crysis 3 is much better, and in other games too. -
Now after i heard HW info causes all sorts of performance degradation and blue screens, i use GPU Meter Widget for each card. It works like a charm, shows Clocks, Load, Temps, what more could i want?..... No More HW Info...REEEP

Hwinfo is needed to dynamically adjust the fans for each GPU and CPU independently

disable ULPS and run msi afterburner once with the -xcl command -
All of you also receive the blue screen at start Windows sometimes together with this program?
-

I don't use msi afterburner because I have vbios 022 mod and do overclock from a katalist of overdrive. -
SO logically if you play a game the cpu heats up and ALL the fans spin up and you are ok.
BUT in rare ocations like 3dmark (the first 4 testa are only gpu intensive) the cpu doesnt work and doesnt heat up so the fans stay low IN CPU AND in GPUS..
so just be carefull OR use hwinfoto be sure and safe... -
On my cards (CLEVO) the fans do spin up in GPU load only. The only link they have to CPU temps is at idle when all switch off below 55C CPU temp but that's normal R2 behaviour and happens with my 5870M's too. If you look at our unlocked A10 BIOS you will see that there is an option for fan trip point which is defaulted to 55C. Unfortunately changing the value doesn't work.
@AlienHack, If you exit HWinfo does it affect your GPU score?
@neklec, disable all sensors in HWinfo besides the fan RPM sensors. That should help with performance. Also how are you setting HWinfo to start up with Windows? -

I was thinking we could all meet up on Mumble or TS or Skype and chat about the whole thing a bit.
....The Gathering !
Who is in ? -
I have to admit, I'm pants at organized meetings, but if you volunteer to get something going I'd cash in and we can each talk about some curiosities, issues we've been having, provide suggestions, etc.
Anyway, hopelesslyfaithful was asking for whomever's willing to post some bench and OC experiences on the 7970m's in this thread here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/gam...s/661854-7970m-how-high-can-overclock-58.html -
I have such settings if I switch off sensors темр, then fans won't work! But if they are switched off then games work more smoothly, I noticed long ago it. At you they are disconnected?
HWinfo64 that was in automatic loading it is necessary to make so -
"In order to automatically launch and activate fan control (along with HWiNFO Autorun), put the following setting at the end of the HWiNFO INI file (HWiNFO32.INI or HWiNFO64.INI respectively): OpenFanCtrlMin=1" -
Increase scantimes as well.
Guess you can go manual on your fans not needing temps?
And if you go manual a big big scantime is no concern since fans run full speed all the time. -
-
Try AlienHacks method above as he has experience using HWinfo fan control. You can also try the startup method used for ThrottleStop using task scheduler to see if it resolves BSODs. I don't have much experience with HWinfo fan control as I don't use it. I have auto fan control with my CLEVO cards (I don't have DP or HDMi audio though). -
If all you need is for benching then full speed on manual control is the best it keeps the system cooler too.
If fans spin full ahead early who cares, set speed to 5000.
Manual control= all you need is fan speed in HWinfo. It works. Ive done it.
And also set > 10000ms scan interval. Scan interval isnt needed since you run manual and dont care about what it reads out.
This is not ideal for noise in normal use. -
Where is that guy from Germany who wanted a PSU mod ?
After i done it once i can see how simple is that, and i could do Mods for all users on NBR who would request that. I do Not think there are many of them anyways....
R2 users are on Endangered species list.
Only thing that is required, is that the person who wants the mod sends me all parts needed
Also, @Nospheratu
Your mod is very nicely done, but because i was afraid i can damage the ID chip, or, cause short, because of how close all elements are to each other, i ended up on using a small Junction Box like this one
Terminal Block 78A Inline IDC Coupler Junction Box ADSL Extension: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories
Funny is the ID chip itself is worth about $50, so at all costs, i wanted to avoid screwing something up.
I filled the Box with silicone (about 50% of the box filled), and left ID chip intact on the side not touching anything.
After you told us about the broken off legs on the ID chip, i knew i have to watch out, even with TO-92 Package.
PEACE !

EDIT:
I opened my box and the connections just snapped, the positive cable just disconnected from the jack.....

Yep, all done properly this time, i used a bit more Flux, the solder blob is now perfectly arount the PIN and the wire itself.
Gues i did not chek the connection last time. When i tried to solder 2 elements together, cable moved a bit, and because of that everything stopped working after 24hrs.
Now i am good to go, more benches, more bear, my Life Is Now CompleteNospheratu likes this. -

For my bro's from NBR and you @Alienhack i do everything. Just send me the parts
I did not made any photos of my mod because @Nosphersetu covered everything in his guide. So i though it is gonna be boring...

Sangemaru, what VBIOS do you use now?
Currently my 022 seems to have 975 mv.
Would like to increase slightly and still have possible overdrive, but the VBIOS for the dell (HDMI version that you use) has only the 017 on the original VBIOS package and overdrive is not possible. -
Same one you're using
But here's the 1.05v overdrive 022 version.
I've uploaded both versions to first post.
Also, it's Dell, and supports HDMI with sound.
And fan control (even if it's CPU-tied). -
What clocks are u running with that voltage?
Seems to get stuttering when i try for instance 880 and 1270, thats why i was wondering if the voltages are to low
EDIT
Nah, had nothing to do with the voltage. -
You may be suffering from the issue I've had for the past few months, and that is clock fluctuations, stuttering and stuck 2d clocks at any clocks and any settings other than stock clocks and 0.975v
-
truedat.
trying some forced OC's now for fun.
The orignal ones.
See that it lags and speed drops for just a short time.
It will also affect benching since speed drops too while lagging.
Did do a bench with 27X 5% BIOS OC and 75mV over in BIOS.
Doing 925-1300 original voltage VBIOS
Ended up at 86deg on CPU 57 on GPU.
Here is my score.
At least its over 10K.

Increase your TDC in throttlestop in steps. You're looking @ over 100TDC to keep up with the clocks. Also probably need TDP increase over 100.
The score is too small for the GPU. What driver version are you using? -
katalin_2003, Nospheratu and sangemaru like this.
-
Niiiice, I'm liking that
-
Used TDC 95, TDP 115. Can try to increase again to about 100.
But you remember perhaps that i do have CPU problem, needing to OC my CPU a LOT to keep up with you guy's CPU.
(i had about 6300 with this setting, and T-stop with TDC TDP and settings 25X and no BIOS OC will not give me 6300, hardly 6100)
The GPU's are stuttering. 13600 - 13700 with this setting, 13300 stock but like you also have, smother running stock clocks.
Using Beta 7 .
Edit: Chaging TDC to 105 didnt change anything. -
its beautiful!!!
so tell me exacty what you wantme ordered from ebay and pm me your address... -
The box was black already and I bought it from our local hardware store.
Then I used my dremel 3000 tool to make a hole for the jack. Then glued jack using strong epoxy glue.
I will pm you details soon....

The Chipset Clock mod, C0% mod and Turbo ticked? -
Using HWinfo, but 20 000ms and 4 sensors and manual fans full speed.
With 25X and full BIOS 5% and 75mV its 6100. That is my best. Stopping HwInfo could perhaps give me 50 more since i have so low updates etc.
Clock modulation ticked 100%
Chipset clock mod 100%
Set multiplier is not ticked, but turbo should be default. -
Lolbro
Tick the multiplier and set it to turbo.
EDIT: And prepare for bsod lol.
EDIT2: Oh, and you don't need to cripple hwinfo. You can leave the sample and respin periods at 1000, just make sure to disable all non-essential sensors (disable their monitoring in settings). Leave GPU and CPU temps, and fans. -
The times ive tried (also today) ,nothing different happens, as long as i dont tick disable turbo, but who would do that
If i play or bench, fan doesnt bother me, so HWinfo can be as crippled as can be as long as fans run full.
But the difference is very small i know. Perhaps 20-50 ticks in physics.
I get about 1000 lower than you guys at 25X no bios OC/OV, but can go a lot higher than most of you. (but result speed is still lower than you)
Might have to go for a 920 since they are half price of 940 and memory handling tells me that my CPU could be at fault.
The stuttering in the GPU's are more a bother.
Wonder what does it.
Have you tried the Clevo Bios and still have the problem? -
Yea, the GPU stutter is neither driver or vbios related.
Changing the Crossfire cable partially alleviated the issue, but it's still there somewhat.
And yea, it could be something broken on the CPU. Is it a ES/QS version? -
Bros, @Trome71
You have the faulty XM CPU yes ( do i remember good ? )
Your CPU lacks one channel of memory, is is most likely your CPU that does all of those weird things.... -
Mhm you remember correctly.
Some programs discover it, and some not. Something is fishy in there. You see my benching discover both my 8 and 4. (mixing it up now to be sure i have 8 if only one stick is read.)
It work, it works OK, guess apx between 840 and 920. But its not ideal.
My 940 is a QS. (marked ES) But my memory issues have not been there all the time.
Memory was ok after swap, but donno when something got shot. -
I could not stand the issues for even 1 day, but that is me -
-
Since i knew XM is expensive and i am getting them cheap, even it was damaged, i sold it for $100.....and the person who bought it was very happy anyways so....
-
I assume the CPU was still pretty functional, more than a 8xxQM, probably? Bargain.
