I would wait for the Fermi technology just because I still believe Nvidia is a better company in terms of drivers.

I was just answering the guy's question if they were just a few weeks apart. That is what I would do but I never desired to start a war in between ATI and Nvidia driver's support...

I was talking about the 'wait until 480M's thread" that'll pop up any day now.. but ATi VS Nvidia sounds *much* better. I'm ready for an argument.

    Ok so let's argue:

    - Nvidia has better driver support just because...
    - ATI has the best technology right now
    - Nvidia has deceived too many people
    - ATI is not doing enough for gamers

It's just a few thoughts to start...

NVidias draw way too much power, generate too much heat and have crappy throttling support. That's why I want off the platform.

so you want out of a platform that by nature draws a lot of power, generates a lot of heat, and generally has little throttle support to speak of because of said faults? You bought the wrong system my friend.

i didnt try the theme itself as i didnt want to screw up win7 if it didnt work. you can try and then restore system. my M17X is dead so i cant try.

icons really rock anyway. i can give you the alienware icons package for tuneup utilities if you want.

ok feedback if you like it. some of the icons may not be changed automatically. dont know why. however you can do it manually by downloading all alienware invader icons and then customizing folders - programs-file types etc. i found them on the net.

anyway, I think M17x is design for dual card, otherwise we can go with M15x and replace 5870 by ourselves.

With all the people saying that they're able to request Dual 5870's via UK/Europe I wonder if that means that the website(s) will be updated this weekend to reflect same.

Has anyone from US / AU (or anywhere else) had a similar discussion with their Rep advising that they can order them?

is 1 5870 same as duel 4870? o0? that means dual 5870 = godly in comparison to 4870?

he basically said stock was the issue, so im assuming there holding back puting it up till stock is high, rather than have the issue with the r1 where things were delayed due to stock.

basically, dual 4870s is believed slightly powerful than single 5870, while 5870 supports DX11 and u will not suffer dual cards issues like setting up, crossfire cable, etc.
5870CF is all the way to go if u can ask for it. it rocks. should be

Ah, fair enough I suppose. Well, if they're starting to make them available that at at least bodes well for a mainstream release soon™.

I hope they're taking into consideration how many people will conveniently and suddenly have issues with their current systems under warranty and send them back asking for 5870's in the replacement.

agreed, 3-4 years ago.. sure, but today, all games can take advantage of Multiple GPUs(mostly because you don't have to specifically code for it..), in the same way they're can at least take advantage of Dual-core processors.
