M1710...one of my favorite lids of all time. I had a black one.
-
but my wife chose the colour of it, the colour of m17x was my idea, but I'm really happy with my choice
-
Wow Nice Pics!!!
After seeing those, Red does look good.
Thanks! -

Beautiful! It's a nice deep red color.
My review M17x is black, but if I were buying one it would definitely be red. -

that red does look nice
I still like my silver though, free and scratches wont show -
Ooh la la. How about some benchmarks on that bad boy?
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
because red definitely means faster! haha
-
Reminds me of one comercial where an old man was standing by the curb yelling at a parked red car "slow down!!" -

pics of the silver? I can tonight, been too busy OC'ing the laptop haha
It definitely does look niceespecially on my silver Cryo
-
That looks really nice! A lot better than I imagined.
-
+++++++++REP GIVEN!
THanks for the AWESOME photos of the RED beast!
You are the first to put up proper lighting photos depicting how AWESOME the RED truly is.
I can't wait to get mine now..... -
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
lol someone is excited
the rest of the laptop is nice too...besides the color haha -
I know I am excited! LOL
It's just no one has provided those kind of pics (showing a DEEP red). -
Great looking laptop! I orderd mine at the start of July so that wasn't an option. Needs a Ferrari logo on it!

it is starting to sound like I got my laptop in record time....it even gets to me fast, that's how fast it is! haha
(12 days order to delivered) -
Absolutely beautiful!!!!

Thanx Guys for nice words, I'm really happy from the system, but I see same cons like:
- brightness is not at the same level on the left edge as in the middle of the screen, but I can see it especially on a dark picture, but it's still very good display 9/10
- touchpad (as other says) is not as good as on my m1710 and e1705, should be more slippery for me, I have to get used to work on it
I'm downloading vantage now but it could take a while because I'm running on mobile hdspa broadband (max 1MB/s on my location), I have to wait for ADSL till the end of next week -
Wow that looks really good, worth the $100 bones IMO. Thanks for the pics.

Yep nice pics but I definitely do not like the red, IMO it is butt ugly, but everyone has different tastes and I'm sure you are very happy with it.
After seeing many pics of the sliver and red I am happier than ever that I chose black.
+rep for posting these pics, thank you. -
-
wow i actually think the red looks pretty good there.. very nice.. still like silver the best myself but id get red before black
-
Apologies for putting a downer on it but I think it looks absolutely horrid, kind of cheapens the premium look. Of course, this is just my personal opinion, everyone has different tastes and i'm glad you're happy wth it.
-
I just can't imagine thinking the M17x looks "horrid" in any color. lol
I bet fuscia would even look nice... -
-
Nice pics. Red looks hot.
PS, Klithro, could you post info on your OC of the Q9000 on the Benchmarking thread? -
I hate those colored coded phone plugs though. For some reason they look infantile to me. -
Your pictures are awesome! First photos of Nebula red that I have viewed looked pinkish, terrible! Yours are much better. I have always thought that a plain annodized aluminum case would be the ideal for a high performance portable computer and Dell delivered 100%.
If there was anything I would change about this PC it would be 1) the outline of the letters on the keyboard(I realise that this is a hallmark traditionally of Alienware computers but it does not fit here.)
2) I would do away with the Alienhead logo(for similar reasons as #1)
3) I would definitely do away with that edge to edge display(sheet of plastic over the screen) BS. -
the outline on the keys actually helps when typeing since its illuminated you can see the ...welll... outline better
don't be hatin on my alienhead
E2E i could live with out -
"the outline on the keys actually helps when typeing since its illuminated you can see the ...welll... outline better"
I can't remember the last time I needed to type an outline.... -
im just saying for gaming ....
plus it looks cooler .....
See OCZ whitebook VS AW Whitebook
each to their own though
BTW i played a school in football in your town -
I don't think the alienhead will be going away anytime soon.
-
I kinda like the alien head... its unique
-
Very nice photos.
Makes my waiting even more painful!!!!! -
Very Nice!

I wish M17x also had a Logitech display.
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
what...?! logitech does not make displays dude....never has
-
I think he meant one of the logitech gaming displays (like the 1730 had).
lol
Meh.. It was more gimmicky than anything else, IMO. -
The M17x feels like a tank that just so happens to fit in a backpack would be the best way for me to describe it .
-
The palmrest and surrounding areas are plastic but a very sturdy plastic and nothing flimsy at all.

Really great pictures. I really like the red, feels like something an alienware executive would have personally made for him. I wonder if they could change the black in another colour so it matches the red even better. Maybe something for future models.
My new RED m17x pics:)))
