Nah - no BFBC2 change. Still flickers like hell and suffers from throttling![]()
I thought it worth while bumping this thread as well;

You can work out the new settings locations pretty easily
-
Thats where I usually enable it however there is no gaming section there now. It just shows 3d application settings.
Cheers. -
BFBC2 works perfectly for me. What settings are you using in the game and CCC? And make sure you use Catalyst Application Profiles (CAP). -
-
Yeh, I'm in Advanced view mode. I just gave Standard a try but no luck either.
I think I will have to try uninstalling and reinstalling.
I seem to be missing quite a few CCC control panel menu options.
Cheers. -
I have the same problem. I can't select my GPU in the settings. I just got the computer and am trying to troubleshoot why I have horrible FPS in all games (even CS:S). Dell outlet sent me the wrong PS unit and are sending me another. So I am running the PS they sent with no battery in because it wouldn't charge the battery. Could that be part of the culprit? The PS does say its a 100-240 watt PS brick. I figured it would at least run high performance while gaming. Either way, I can't get CCC to identify my 5870's...
-
Still no luck. I have uninstalled everything ATi about 10 times over and reinstalled starting from 10.11 and 10.12 but every time there is no options for enabling Crossfire in CCC2.
Anyone know any other way to re-enable Crossfire?
Cheers. -
My driver ver shows 8.812-110104a-111990C-ATI in CCC, is this 11.1? I can not find where it says 11.1 anywhere?
-
I ended up reverting to the 10.11 CCC and Drivers. I was having the same flickering screen issue with 11.1 that I was having with 10.12. My framerates are lower with 11.1 then with 10.11 as well. On top of it, I still can't get the link to send me to 11.1 (clicking on the links in here, except the direct downloads posted by BatBoy, send me to 10.12) and going to the AMD site for drivers sends me to 10.12 as well. Back to the driver......I did a total uninstall, did the driver sweeper in safe mode, and then did the 11.1 install. As I stated, my frame rates were lower, even with enabling CrossfireX and making sure all my settings were back to my normal setup.
P.S. I have been seeing/reading stuff on a 11.1a hotfix. Anyone know if that is something I should be downloading instead? -

Wonder if anyone that is experiencing trouble getting the link to work has tried via CCC. Opening CCC...check for updates...type in system info...takes me right to 11.1 (the 1mb file)....just thought it may work for those who are having difficulties as I get the link to 11.1 that way no problems.
-
Haven't tried it through CCC. I did a google search for AMD Catalyst Mobility 11.1 and when I clicked on the link that said 11.1 it took me to 10.12 lol. On 3 different computers with 2 different OS's and 2 different browsers (firefox and IE) Its a mystery to me lol. But I am not sure why I get worse performance with the newer drivers. My caps are up to date as well, so I dont think that is it. I did experience the "sleep issue" as well while I was trying things out, but since I keep my screen at full brightness as well, it doesn't bother me as much as the flickering screen issues I get in games: Crysis, Black Ops, AC Brotherhood, WoW and SC II.

It does say underneath that the Catalyst Version is 10.10???? - is this right? -
From when I still had it installed, I remember it saying Catalyst Version was 2011.******** So I am not sure what it is supposed to say. I may try to do another install and see if I get the same performance or if it gets any better.
-
ATI Catalyst? Mobility Display Driver
If you still see the old drivers then try clearing your browser cache -
Still see the old driver, and I have cleared the cache and run CCleaner as well. Like I said, 3 computers, 2 OS's 2 Browsers. Have no clue lol. What a pain.
-
-
I did.................I have used all links in this thread and they all take me to 10.11 lol. The links that BatBoy and you posted to the direct download were the only one that would work, that is how I was finally able to get the 11.1 CCC/drivers. I think I am just going to give up....google search for a solution isn't helping either lol
-
Back to the drivers....I have been putting all my settings to Quality (except the verticle refresh- off) and NOT checking the box to use application settings. Is this where I am going wrong? I have been doing this with all drive builds, but as I said, I got better performance out of the 10.11 then I did with 11.1. I am wondering now if I should check the use application settings block and see how this effects my performance. Thanks for putting up with all my "can't get the link to work" stuff lol (I have given up trying to fix it) and for any suggestions. I figured with the setup I have in my sig I could run everything maxed out, but maybe using app settings will fix my screen flicker and fps drop.
-
What I did wrong, I unistall the the driver using control panel, reset the system on safe mode, I ran Driver Sweeper, system boot after CCleaner and at the end delete folder \program files\ATI Technologies.
After all this, I ran the EXE "11-1_mobility_vista_win7_32-64_ccc" and I got this message:
UI 01/27/11 10:11:46install Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable9.0.30729.41487 ATI Catalyst Install ManagerSucceed3.0.808.020 Hardware informationExisting packagesPackages for installPackages for uninstallOther detected devicesError messagesNameManufacturerChip typeDevice IDOther hardwareDownload packagesSuccessFailVendor IDClass CodeRevision IDSubsystem IDSubsystem vendor IDCatalyst Install ManagerInstallation ReportFinal Status:Version of Item:Size:Mbytes"
any ideas?

I have reverted back to 10.12 /w caps2. 11.1 (besides the fact that they show up as 10.12, anyway) doesn't work well for me
-
http://www2.ati.com/drivers/mobile/11-1_mobility_vista_win7_64_dd_ccc_ocl.exe
this is the DIRECT 90+MB Driver file straight from ati server. i've just tried it and it works -
Your system should be running this game on high. Turn off HBAO in the advanced video settings, it doesnt really add anything and just causes a loss of fps. -
P.S. Any ideas on whether or not I should check the use the application settings box or let my settings over ride the apps settings? -

I installed the 11.1 drivers last night and I gotta say it is an amazing improvement from the dell/alienware drivers. Games I tested were:
Metro 2033 @ 1920 x 1200, dx 11, Very High, AAA between 35 and 60 fps good gameplay
Bad Company 2 @ 1920 x 1200 High, HBAO and 4xAA between 40and 60 fps rarely dropped under 60
Dawn of War 2 Chaos Rising @ 1920 x 1200 Ultra settings average 40 fps min 20 from the benchmark in game worked no problem
Black Ops @ 1920 x 1200 Extra Textures, 4x AA occasionally dropped under 60 fps but not really noticeable.
All of these games had improved fps, I can't say exactly what the change was cos I didn't use fraps with the old drivers. I did however notice Metro 2033 seemed to have the biggest improvement.
If you aren't using these drivers you should be!!!
One thing to note is that the stupid catalyst control centre doesn't allow you to force v sync, this is a serious issue and nvidia is def better at this!!
In order to force v sync you need to download a program called riva tuner. When its installed it also installs software called d3d overrider. Using d3d overrider you can force v sync in all your games. Without v sync Metro 2033 was making me feel really sick from all the tearing I recommend all ATI users to download this software.

Ok, did a fresh install of 11.1 again. Cleaned everything out multiple times with CCleaner and Driver Sweeper. Loaded the latest 10.12 caps and now I am getting better performance. There doesn't seem to be as many choices to choose from in the 3d options, but I put SV HD AA to 4, left the box unchecked, SV HD AF to 16, box unchecked Catalyst AI to standard, box unchecked, MipMap and Anti Aliasing to Quality, Vert Sync to off and I am seeing an increase in most games of around 10-20 fps. My screen isn't flickering and everything is sharp and clear, so I think I will keep this and make sure it works well over the next week or so.

In the CCC under Information, I still have no Catalyst Version, it's missing? Everything is up to date, my Catalyst Control Center Version is
2011.0104.2155.39304
Anyone know was going on? I have uninstalled everything ATI related, and used the newest version of Driverswepper. -
Meh, so I uninstalled the old drivers and did driver sweep and ccleaner but when I restarted the computer it just hangs on the starting windows screen. I hear the windows startup sound but nothing. I've tried installing both 11.1 and 10.12 in safe mode but it just gives me a cannot load driver detection error. Any suggestions?
-
Ok I got it, went into control panel and uninstalled the vid cards from there, everything seems to be loading fine now
-
Installed the 11.1 drivers after upgrading to 5870s and doing a clean OS install. So far so good!
-

Just dont understand it - I imagine everyone is affected but some are just not bothered or just dont use sleep/close lid.
I may try ANOTHER fresh install later....too include 11.1 at the outset...see what happens. -
installed the 11.1 but it shows that my cat ver is 10.12
and is it just me or ever since the 10.11 drivers vantage's jane nash and new calico tests keep artifacting?
not so much on calico but on jane nash's the entire terrain is flashing white -

Did you have Tesselation and DOF enabled under DX11 settings?
Actually, if anyone has benched this game using the "Metro Bench tool", would you kindly post results/settings so I can compare?
Thanks! -
Still no Crossfire options in CCC or CCC2.
Any ideas peeps?
Cheers. -
software level: do a clean uninstall, use driver sweeper clean the remaining junk, then do a full mobility 11.1 install. -
Thanks for all the tips. Tried all of them already however no success. It only happen after I did a clean install of 11.1
I just gave up and decided to do a system restore back to 3 days ago. Great time machine saves the day again LOL
Crossfire options are back in CCC2.
This time I just installed 11.1 on top of which ever driver was there. Everything is back to normal. Phew!

Joker I copied your settings file over mine and everything works perfectly now (so far). Ive just had a long game on Oasis and it never flickered once. The only difference between my settings and yours was you had everything on HIGH. I dont know what the hell happened but it seems to be working fine now. +1 REP

I have just done a fresh OS install (trying to eliminate this sleep/lid closing business) and installed 11.1 after chipset. Perfect installation. No probs. Again (big rep to VoiceInTheWilderness for his awesome install guide!)
The only thing thats slightly baffling is regarding Catalyst version. When I initially installed 11.1, Catalyst version showed under the driver as 10.10 (as Alex said to me, maybe 'cos I was on 10.10e before - I dunno)
Now, on my fresh OS install, I dont have ANY Catalys version under the driver in ccc/information/software....maybe again, 'cos of the fresh install, there was no prior driver installed for it to pick up on.....just odd! - thought it would have SOME Catalyst version info....
Still gotta check out the sleep issue some more when im all set. Will post back here with any more news. -
I installed the 11.1 drivers and CAP2 this morning. Everything is stable. Did notice that my Intel RST didn't start and my Alien Fusion service also failed. Maybe they were related, maybe not. I started them both manually and they are working. Haven't rebooted though. -

After reading Reborn post, i decided to give 11.1 another try. Did the same thing, installed over the existing 10.12 diver, afterward i installed 10.12 cap2.
Result here is my vantage score. The best i ever had so far i would say. System is stock, i've got like >90 process running in background. lol! (i don't care a lot since shortly i will recive a new system disk, then i will do a clear install)
There is something that i've noticed, and please, whoever has 11.1 installed do some monitoring also.. my temperature are like...better i think. I forgot to run hwinfo32 in background, but during the test the fan never went above 2500 rpm's. I know my machine really well and (as i think all of you) can predict fairly precisely at wich point of the test the fan will increase speed. This is the first time it has run the test so silently. -

OK. Just wanted to report back on my findings. Did a whole fresh OS install....went sweet, no hitches.
Having tried out sleep using 11.1, can satisfactorily say that putting my system to bed via closing the lid is a no-go. 1st attempt led to brightness controls going all funky again. Havent hung about for a bsod but i KNOW that as soon as brightness controls have gone funky, if left like that without a restart, eventually, my system will bsod and restart for no reason. Definetly something with AMD refrerence drivers causing this.
I know alot of you guys probably wont be remotely interested but there is something screwy somewhere...... -
I must say that I don't use sleep very often or at all however I do like to know that it would be an available standard feature for odd times when I may need to use it. Thanks for all the testing and reporting back.
Hopefully AMD will hear about these sleep issues and look into them or attempt some sort of fix in the near future. I wouldn't count on it but you never know. Now that its out there hopefully someone will notice.
Cheers. -

If I wanted to transport my system from one room to another, its a real handy feature, just close, move and re-open. It aint quite like that at the moment tho!
Anyway, I got a workaround down for it. So I guess I am ok.
Glad to hear you got yours sorted chief!
