Us nvidia boys have none of these problems...until someone comes along and posts a bench with PPU enabled and achieves a CPU score of over 50K! Although Vantage now have PPU disabled by default.

Fun to run it every so often though, eh? Sure takes the stress out of Vantage CPU test.

I say if the Team Red benchers can disable tess, we should be able to use PPU. But, that's not how it works. Team Red will always have a slightly unfair benchmark advantage, especially in 3DMark11, because of the ability to turn off tessellation using CCC.

I agree Rev - it is fun to run it, even though it does not get counted on the leader board.

Great Score GEO! What are your settings for this? CPU and GPU? The link says your GPU is at 400mhz? Can't be...

My Clevo card is coughing and chocking lmao.

    CPU at 4.4Ghz, 99w 110A
GPU at 865/1090 I think.. this is the max I have pushed it for 3DMark11, but more cooling would help.

Btw if anyone is willing to donate me a 580M I will be glad to bench it to death and beat a few scores ^_^

I'll try and find time, but work is busy, and I'm looking for a new house and have a baby on the way, so I havn't had much time to dedicate to it over the last few weeks. I've been out of town 7 out of the last 8 weekends as well. I don't even remember what it's like to have free time anymore.

I'll make this easier on me :D

IF YOU HAVE A SCORE THAT SHOULD BE ON THE LEADER BOARD PLEASE PM ME THE SCORE AND A LINK TO IT

ONLY PM ME YOUR MOST UP TO DATE SCORE FOR EACH CATAGORY (3DMARK06, 11, VANTAGE

IF YOU KNOW OF A SCORE THAT IS NOT YOURS THAT SHOULD BE IN THE LEADERBOARDS, PM THE SCORE/LINK TO ME.

AS IT STANDS IT WOULD TAKE ME SCRUBBING THE LAST 50 PAGES FOR SCORES. PLEASE PM ME AND I WILL DO MY BEST TO GET THE SCORES UPDATED.

Thanks guys, this will make it much easier for me! And I know everyone wants there scores up on the board. But keep in mind they must show CPU-Z and GPU-Z, and the score just as the rules state in the original post.

If I have the score sent to me it's much easier, It just takes a few hours to pull out the top qualifying scores out of the pages since my last update. If I can get the wife to rack out early, I'll go through and try and find the scores at some point. Hopefully this week. This will be my first free weekend in forever :D Looking forward to it. :D

    Hummmm, Dr650se...
Just let the amd scores fly as is 3dmark11. That's what I ended up doing for the time being. There is no way for you to regulate that.

And Nvidia cards are still stronger here. You can go in and do a custom run and start turning down the tessellation. do the GPU benching test and check your gpu score. it should be higher than amd's GPU score. You wont get an over all score, but it proves nvidia is still winning at the end of the day....Now when these 7k amd cards hit...580m will be aking a back seat im sure.

Yea, I'll just let them fly. As in no verification? I hate getting behind. I let it go too long between updates  Nvidia is definatly the clear winner this round.

You still need general verification -- test screenshot with scores, GPU-Z, CPU-Z -- same as always. You just don't have to regulate whether tess is on or off in CCC with AMD cards. There's no way to do it anyway, unless we require that all bench scores be registered with 3dMark.com (who then say that most scores are invalid because of an unapproved driver). Same as always. Everyone who has done any benching can almost always tell whether tess is turned off by looking at the scores (and it almost always is with any scores competing for leaderboard position).

tried to replicate my 3dmark 11 score but failed. Still aint too bad a score although no hope on competing with GTX 580M. Man what I could do if I get my hand on one of them.

btw not sure if this can be discussed here but turn out you can get a advanced copy of 3dmark vantage very easy. Google it. I bought a copy of 3dmark 11 and both are much better than the free version.

The 2920XM is such an amazing chip.. I have made enough love to it for tonight.

I really want to push it to 45x and higher (meaning more flex and shizzle).. but when you need cold weather in the UK, it's actually warm for once. If it was minus I would actually take the laptop outside and run some benches haha

As for the 6990M, it's a shame you cannot overvolt like you could with the 5870M (1.2v 950 core ;o), damn you AMD! Maybe if we could, we'd definitely give the 580M a better battle. :p

What BIOS settings are you using? That's a little better than what I am getting from my 2920XM.

The only thing I change in the Bios is setting the Priplane at 880. On XTU I make sure short boost is disabled, 44x across all cores and the max boost at 99w. ThrottleStop is fairly useless and only limits things so I make sure it's set to 44x and 99w in the TDP setting. I don't need to touch the flex at all for 44x, and runs stable on 110w (880 Priplane). :p

    Hello,

So i finally had my 580m switched and I'm just wondering if the benchmark scores I'm getting are appropriate to my specs.

my specs are: 2630QM with 580m, 8gb RAM, intel 510SDD. the system is running win7 ultimate, 290.53 beta drivers, A08 bios, and non modded vbios.

In 3dMark 11 I get P3499 with graphic score of 3261 and physics score of 6013.
    In 3dMark Vantage I get p16383

    Thank you,

    timurStas

The 3dMark11 scores sound right in line to good with stock clocks. The Vantage score is strong, but without knowing the extent of the overclock, it's hard to comment on its relative performance. I expect you will enjoy that new 580M very much.

Then congratulations, you have a very strong system. At stock clocks, my 2920XM/580M only does about 14,800 in Vantage. With you starting at P16,383, you should smash the existing R3 Vantage benchmark records. ;)

OK, I've been waiting for someone else to ask and nobody has. Please explain. I'll admit that I don't know what you are talking about so nobody else has to. :)

Hey bro, this was a nice run... what did you do to get the temps better? Was it optimizing settings or pasting?
Hey buddy, thanks for this information. It saved me a lot of time and effort experimenting on my M18x. Those turned out to be an excellent starting point for my 2920XM upgrade and my temps are such I can actually use these settings for normal everyday use. +1 Rep.

The 2920XM is a pretty amazing CPU. Here are my best benches with it... http://forum.notebookreview.com/ali...benchmark-thread-part-2-a-68.html#post8257728

    Alright basically guys, download this:
    http://www.planetsoft.org/utils/BootTimer.exe

Then make sure all your apps are closed etc. Run the program as Admin, and don't touch anything until the whole thing restarts again and your boot time shows up.

I'll run mine again but I am currently at around 9.28secs

Ran the Crysis benchmarking tool 1920x1080 No AA all settings high in 32bit mode. Average frames per second were 50.625.

    I have a M17XR3 2720, 8GB ram, SSD, and a 6990. Does that seem right?

So I may get back to the benching scene because:

    1. Coursework all handed in.
    2. Applications all done.
    3. Custom 7W/mk thermal pads by from Phobya applied
