It is beautiful with high gpu score
but it is also beautiful with a high score in physics. I'm just wondering when gtx980m works as it should with Aienware 17 Ranger with 120hz 3D monitor.

@papusan
I have a 3920XM on delivery, scores will be updated soon. -
Then you maybe should invest in it in a 330W power supply.
I maxing out my PB with 251 watts during the test Sky Diver in 3DMark. This with a moderate overclocking on gpu and without a mod vbios.
-
Did you use Kill A Watt to measure it for accuracy? or as close to accurate as it reads? if so what was the OC on the CPU?
Also is the 330W PB PnP if so what model do you have?papusan likes this. -
I use one Kill A Watt to check the wattage. Sky Diver test is more CPU intensive than other tests in 3DMark and 3dmark11(221w). There are overclocking of the processor that is the sinner .. My 240W is pushed to 251 watts, and it is not particularly healthy for Pb.
Here in Norway costs 330W approximately $ 270, due to government taxes.
-
Papsun you also forgot to mention thata you guys make absurd amounts of money in Norway and your government has enough in the bank to make each one of your millionaires!!papusan likes this.
-
The government has enough in the bank two make each one of your millionaires !!
It's no wonder the government has a lot of money. The government takes away from us all the money we earn in high taxes. We live in the world's most expensive countries. A regular family car costing 75-80000 $. and one liter of petrol to the same car costs $ 2.7  -
Well unlike the UK here at least your government doesn't waste all its oil money on social security, scroungers, benefit cheats and actually saves it... It really pains me to see how much money is wasted here in the UK..papusan likes this.
-
The Norwegian government is investing their money in property in England (London). Not a penny invests the Norwegian government, for new roads in Norway ..
-
Do you need new roads?
We need new roads here in the UK and there is no money for that... all being wasted on the above...papusan likes this. -
We have worse roads than Albania. Main roads to major cities outside Oslo and Bergen are twofield roads. One field in each direction

Cinebench 11.5 = 9.18 and Wprime 1024 = 171,084 sec - Scoring 8479 in 3DMark 11 (Physics score 10200) without mod vbios. Had I used Win 7 then had physics score increased by about 1000p. I have one too weak power supply already uses 251w under Sky diver test in 3DMark due overclocking the processor. papusan`s wPrime - 1024m score: 2min 51sec 84ms with a Core i7 4930MX

It is plug and play on the 17, but I do not think it is on the R4. I think you need to do this: [GUIDE] Dell 330W Power Adapter Mod for the M17X - which is a really cool mod, and seems fairly simple.Ashtrix likes this.

i Have only downloaded some important windows update after reinstallation of Win 8.1. Previously I have tested the latest Windows updates and I thought they were rubbish. How can Microsoft manages and create something so ing garbage? It gets worse and worse. Latest update in December totaled preposterous. Windows update is CLOSED.

Hi,I just got my alienware 17 and need some help regarding my score in 3D Mark Fire Strike, I scored only 2700 in this spec, i7 4710MQ, 8gb DDR3 stock, SSD samsung 850 pro 256gb, SSHD 500gb, gtx860m, windows 8.1
Not sure if the score was normal, but I'm guessing it's pretty low, do you guys think the score was normal or it was way too low for this spec? sorry for asking a foolish question, coz I'm really curious -
Hi
I have not a gtx860m but you can see what gtx860m will succeed in assorted bench tests. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M - NotebookCheck.net Tech -
I just checked the link, and my score is way below the minimum, any idea how to increase its performance?papusan likes this.

What ia your gpu score?? Not total score... Because total score is also cpu and ram ...

Whether it's total score or just gpu score in fire strike the score is too low on his Alienware. Minimum score in Fire Strike Standard Graphics 1920x1080 is 3056 (Average is 3836) and a minimum of fire Strike Standard Score is 2807 (Average is 3553) on div tests of this graphics card .. :thumbsup:mashiron93 likes this.

Which bios version do you have? Is bios old you should update bios .. Cpu score is lower in 3dmark by Win 8.1 if I'm not mistaken ..

Without a doubt, 980M is the goofiest GPU I have ever had. On one hand I love it, and on the other I think 780M is a better product. My impression with it thus far suggests that drivers are to blame for its weirdness. At 1300MHz core clock my system is stable and the overclock holds, but the benchmark score drops by a few hundred points... very goofy. Must be designed for Ultrabook turd machines without a lot of power to draw from, because it doesn't like to cooperate and it seems like it tries to cut back on power utilization when you start pushing it really hard. I want it to do the exact opposite, LOL.

New updated XTU bench score: 930
http://hwbot.org/submission/2715242_papusan_xtu_core_i7_4930mx_930_marks
If I had used better ram would Xtu score passed over 1000 p in xtu bench.
Under old win 8 instead of win 8.1, would XTU score been significantly higher.Last edited: Dec 30, 2014Ashtrix likes this. -
I got 793 with my 3940XM @ 4.2GHz... Wonder why its so low...
BTW, Firestrike score with 970M on stock clocks (max boost clocks when doing bench) and 3940XM @ 4.2GHz on 4 cores...

Have you compared your Xtu score with the same processor in HWBOT? Is not your Physics Score 10556 into fire strike also a bit low even if you use the win 8.1? Why is your processor listed with Maximum turbo core clock 4392 MHz when you say you are running on 4.2 GHz in the fire strike test ?TomJGX said: ↑I got 793 with my 3940XM @ 4.2GHz... Yeah, I guess I need to clock the CPU higher for Physics score.. I've increase voltage, power limit everything, clock holds in 3D Mark and my Physics score is 10.5k..

This is the answer to your problems and keep the clock: m17x R4 has a power limit problem. TDP is maxed at 68w, turbo time window is limited at 56s.TomJGX said: ↑I got 793 with my 3940XM @ 4.2GHz... Wonder why its so low...

780M gets the stuffing beat out of it. Not like how it could exchange blows with the 880M.
At this point it's a Alienware thing, till the problem can be worked out. -
New Xtu score update

New Xtu score 968 marks.
Clock speed keeps 4.2 throughout XTU bench test with a maximum wattage of 113w on processor.

physics score is increased to 10243. Total 3dmark11 score 8519

1. Check your temps hwinfo64 to see if the cpu and gpu sustain speeds
2. update bios
3. clean drivers install new ones
check again scores -
1. the temps were around 62 for CPU and 59 max for the GPUBranzy1987 said: ↑1. Check your temps hwinfo64 to see if the cpu and gpu sustain speeds

again the score was pretty low haha
