I am always benching against myself, it is just nice to know I am #1 while doing so ;) (for now....those dam i7 cpus are going to put a hurt on us core 2 quad people I think)

Ehh not the qx9300's unless we clock way up

I'll prolly try a es if I sell the mac then overclock 2 cores and have a 4.0 ghz dual hyperthreading ....

    IMO best way to go

    what you mean?

    you confused me also.

my 06 scores are 14,600 with my cpu at 2.93ghz

ya I am hoping the limited overclock will sort of knee cap the i7 owners (sorry guys, but I am too poor to join you all so I have to fend for my benchmarks where I can)

It's not that limited when you only overclock it in dual mode :D

for gpu score which is all I care about

also...if you post picks for vantage or any 3dmark software run...it should look like this with a link to the orb validation..

    nice looking scores scook.

    edit.
just bench 2001. then the amount of cores wont matter much over 2 cores.
it probably works for 06 as well...(speculation of course)

yeah, that's not gonna happen...lol..they are benching 6 core 12 thread cpus now and are pretty much blowing the competition out of the water.

    yes.
time to show just what happens with what memory is used and if over clocking it really works or not.
in the dt world..this is crucial to allot of high over clocks. pretty sure it works in the laptop world as well.

    edit:
i figure...in the next 6 months...this benchmarking will expand into far more than just running a 3d/vantage and a few games.(speculation of course)
as they get more and more poweful...the need to see just how far behind desktop models becomes more apparent...might as well start now.( POO=personal opinion only)

How about HWinfo? It's sort of an all-in-one solution. Maybe we can get BatBoy to link it in the OP.

Damn- well, until I somehow manage to get a pair of ATI's over here in Deutschland, I'm out of the top 5 for sure with the 280's....they just can't match up in the synthetics.

Oh well- Mass Effect 2, Bioshock 2, and watching you all should be entertainment enough until I can get back in the game. ;)

voltage is on there.. cpu voltage.

but i do like the hwinfo better...it didn't work with some of the things i was doing...that is why i quit using it for a while.

say, and i brought that program to these forums back in 2008...lol

Correct. If you want to show memory frequency and timings and see how that affects benchmarks then memory voltage needs to be displayed. It all ties together.

Just a heads up, HWInfo will not replace everest for temps, it cant read the ATI cards and always crashes when detecting their temp sensors

so you can change your voltage right?
and in reality...the voltage isn't so much important, until you start dropping the timings super low (example: 7-7-7-24 to 5-5-5-15) (1066 over clocked to 1200 - 1333 and up) (speculation on the 1200mhz part)

but when you start benching the ram...you can see what is what to know and understand this for sure.

ram is a HUGE bottleneck for CPU performance....that is one of the key things I learned in my computer engineering class haha

I would expect everybit you can get out of the ram to be a plus for performance ;)

    Scook's on fire.

By the way, I am impressed by this overclocking trend that I am seeing amongst the ATi benchmarkers. You guys can really push the clocks, especially memory, to insane levels, and that's a steep climb from stock settings. I don't see Nvidia users managing frequencies around the 1100 mark for memory, until and unless I have missed something.

Just one question for Scook. Was the 1130 pulled off under normal room temperature and conditions?

That's why I am curious. You know, did Scook hit 1130 under similar conditions, or do all users--ATi and Nvidia--have to meet special 'outdoor conditions' in order to hit such an overclock.

    1080 is also very impressive.

So, indoors, under normal conditions, would 1100 work for general long-term use?
