    hmm, went to alienware to try and customize another r3 for fun and can't seem to do it, if you seelct build yours either through dell or alienware, the M17x never shows up. anyone else having this problem? maybe dell is updating their upgrade options or adjusting prices again for it or something?

    I primarily want to know about the build quality and materials used. hopefully its not too plasticky

    What do this meant on the m17xR3 front page? and optional XMP 1866 MHz memory. There are 1866 MHz memory for laptop, or the M17xR3 support 1866 MHz?

    mine got delayed till tomorrow according to fedex, but again, am i the only one who can't acces the m17x r3 customization page for some reason? keeps bouncing me back to dell's main website.... ok, got it working using IE, firefox is acting strange is all for some reason.

    I got my M11x today (my toy - a new R3 would have been too much)

    I am posting in regards to the shell material, I prefer the design of my M17x R1 more but the M11x is very acceptable to me. If the R3 is similar to the M11x then I would be perfectly happy. It still felt like metal to me (not plastic) and is definitely metal on the bottom

    if i just may ask, could you test 3dmark06 perfomance? it is ridiculous what did Chinese review say. it is not possible that system with sand bridge does worser than asus g73 jh (which is equal to 13300 benchmarks)
    to do so just dl 3dmak06 and run it

    Easiest way to check would be to right click on the desktop, go to Nvidia Control Panel and see if it has the ability on the program list to select Nvidia or Intel if not no Optimus.

    optimus is a part of driver set up, clearly it has to be within the software. whats teh point of optimus if u can only enable it via reboot???
