This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    I remember killing my first core 2 duo e6600.

    I had an nvidia 650i sli mainboard. It just kept taking more and more fsb. More and more volts.
    It kept asking for more! What was I to do?!

    I couldnt stop. Eventually, with too much voltage and no idea what "safe voltage limit" mean, I killed it, and only had the cash for an e6400 or somesuch to replace it for an upcoming lan.

    Still, taught me a lesson ;)

    looks like they just updated the website today with the new processors...at a price.
