No worries. I can't get the file out to Stevie from work. Long story, but I will get it to him late this evening. Family stuff to take care of first.

You're awesome, brother Bill. I'll also try this driver on the M17x R2 when I get home from my business trip this weekend.

I am also eager to see what is in the change log for the M18x A05 BIOS update, and whether it has anything to offer for the 580M. It will be totally awesome to find a fix for our brothers on the Red Team even if there is no benefit for the 580M systems.

I personally ALWAYS do uninstall. Control panel > programs & features > double click "AMD Catalyst Install Manager" > click "next" > select "express uninstall" and follw on screen prompts.

I then reboot into safe mode and run driver sweeper for ati display only. Reboot and run the new driver .exe

I also unistall any catalyst application profiles too and reinstall them after the main driver install.

You could also manually create a restore point BEFORE changing anything - if the worst happens, just roll back.

I have followed the m18x forums for some time now. I have had my unit for about 4 months with the xfire 6990 configuration. Although I do not have to much trouble I have noticed some issues with the drivers. I have found many solutions here but have never registered. I just wanted t osay thanks for all the great information and the driver which was just uploaded. I will be testing it and giving feedback as well. Thanks a million guys!

Brightness controls don't seem to work... did an uninstall and installed the new drivers. :(

Edit: Performance in Skyrim seems to be the same.

Yup same here. I just uninstalled and driver sweeped in safe mode.
Installed the new Dell driver Thanks StevieJ!

Brightness controls aren't working for me either.

    I just ran a quick 3d mark 11. AMD Radeon HD 6970M / 6990M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-2820QM Processor,Alienware M18xR1 score: P6445 3DMarks
Performance seems on par as previous drivers. Will do more testing soon.

    Cheers. :)

Yup I had 12.1 preview driver installed before this one and brightness controls were working as well. I'm going to give this new Dell driver more testing 1st though before installing any other drivers over the top.

    Cheers. :)

As you guys have found, no brightness control for me too. (Fn & F4/5).

I have done some synthetic benches and found performance has gone up a small amount on each of the tests I did before....mark11 up by about 60pts, vantage and 06 up by aboput 200pts each. Heaven went up to 59.5, so a couple of points there.....all in all, pretty good!

This was done after a uninstall/sweep of 11.10 AMD and CAP's....installed driver and did tests. Will now install 11.11cap2

I will now do a bit of game benching and some normal gaming and report back!

On the whole, right now, pretty good apart from brightness going up the wall - but thats just pretty much something I expect with AMD drivers nowadays!.....maybe Dell can fix it before its rolled out, who knows?

Yup I just played some BF3 and its running well. About the same as the drivers performance before. Perhaps a little better.
So far so good apart from the lack of brightness controls. More testing.

I have Dells new driver installed as well as 11.11 cap2

    Cheers. :)

Just re-done my in-game benches for metro 2033 and crysis 2 - slight increase in fps of about 2fps on each title from my previous testing - but somehow, to my eyes, gameplay seemed smoother.....maybe just me.....

Also, latency seems to be fine too with these babies....

Really good effor here from Dell, just needs tweaking with the brightness and they are very good IMHO.

(I will also do some sleep/resumes to see if there is any issues on that front....)

    Hey zombini,

No this new Dell driver does not address the overheating or fans not spinning issue. The new system Bios version A05 which is going to be released soon is supposed to fix that issue.

    Cheers. :)

I never tried them in BF3. I only used the 11.10 in BF3 and haven't played it since. I got bored of the maps. MW3 is perfectly fine and I haven't tested them in SC2 because I haven't played that in a while.

I can say these Dell drivers are perfect for Dota 2 Beta : p.

I've updated my drivers to the latest Dell release, posted here.. many thanks for posting them up.

Overall compared to the previous driver I was using, here's the variance's listed below:

    3d Mark 2011 P6,420 (0.07%)
    3d Mark Vantage P22,880 (0.14%)
    3d Mark '06 22,808 (1.23%)
    Heaven DX11 59.4 (0.17%)
    Metro 2033 40.90fps +0.15%

Overall pretty much the same results, however this is going to sound a little strange, it does "Feel" smoother in game than my previous driver.
