You missed the whole point of the stupid discussion. You come to this thread and start making random claims about the temperature of other users systems, stating there temperatures are higher than they claim,
You say you didn't call anyone a liar, well that's just quibbling, you don't need to use the word bring up the word 'liar' to label someone a liar. You repeatedly stated that some of the most reputable members here are posting false information about their temperatures, clocks, concealing cooling mods and methods and general posting wrong information and yet you say you didn't call anyone a liar...

While I agree that it is not right to just post any numbers etc. without proof I still have zero understanding of your constant 'proof me wrong' posts, Mr. Fox and also Joker have posted more than enough information regarding their systems and how they run and perform, and not just during the past days but during the past years. I don't know why they keep trying to convince you because I'm sure that both of them have realized long time ago that you're a lost case when it comes to such kinds of discussions. Probably they were just once more too annoyed by your wild and blatantly ingorant claims.
You never owned an AW system and I don't recall you having used any of the recent Clevos either.

Your "proof me wrong" attitude is extremely annoying. As soon as you see something that you like you will easily believe it, no matter whether there's proof or not, just look at my non-sense posts. Even you should have realized that it was all just made up, I mean everyone in this thread knows that higher clocks will always result in higher temps etc., especially you, as you have been the guy here who told everyone that they posted wrong temperatures etc.
Now I can come with some complete bull and you don't want a single bit of proof? But on the other hand calling Mr. Fox and Joker, who both delivered proof en masse, liars.

Everyone who has read some of your posts must have realized that you will believe anything that is in favor of Nvidia, no proof needed, and we've seen this once more here. It is beyond me why you keep insisting on more proof regarding this idiotic MSI vs Clevo vs AW temperatures situation, there's been more than enough evidence and it has been online for ages.

Back to topic... with the current BIOS situation the new AWs are really disappointing. Why should anyone want to spend money on underperforming hardware?

Your little experiment was flawed from the moment you guys tried.

I had reasons to believe that Joker was running a mod. I have explained why earlier: review and comparisons with other systems.
I have no reason to discredit or doubt that a vbios with some hidden settings would decrease temperature. 95% of people have no knowledge of modding a vbios. They cannot relate to what changes in the code would do. Temperatures is easy comprehensible information, reviews as well.

If you guys cant understand the difference there, well you clearly didnt because you instantly thought I would swallow it whole since its favouring Nvidia, well you guys want to take up a logical course.

And on top of that, you post your usual stupid "final nail in the coffin" posts, where you hide things like "I dont think people is that thick to believe me and my post about vbios", to tell me Im thick because I actually believed you. Well thats just pathetic and really sad to see svl.
You have critizised me earlier where you have quoted posts from me where I have posted "Nothing to see here" to try to discredit me or something, but totally failed to see that I just forgot to report my posts to have them deleted. I dont know what your beef is, but it seems you have some issues with me, and frankly, im not going away, so you might as well just stop right there.

Mr Fox btw, havent said anything about temperatures, not specific, he just said the GPU doesnt run hot when overclocked. Hot is a highly subjective element, so dont blame me for trying to get him to post graphs or anything which would show the actual temperature.

Its out of curiousity I asked, nothing more. If this isnt as important to you guys, we might as well just make an overclocking score thread where we just write what we scored with our GPUs. We just have to take peoples word for it, otherwise we might hurt people and telling them they are a liar.

Call me a fanboy or whatever, I would have questioned people in a thread discussing temperatures about an AMD GPU too if I had reasons to believe that.

Cloud fire, your weird bro. If you noticed, the things you say here have made the entire forum not like you. No one. I don't know why you stay in here with a bunch of people that don't like you and try to stir stuff up.

Seriously, drop this obsession over graphics and temps and calling respectable long time members liars. Leave your room, and find a girlfriend.

mm maybe we should all take a deep breath, step back from the keyboard, and go for a stroll? Heat keeps increasing here. Also advisable avoiding name calling? I don't think anyone is weird for sharing their opinions, right or wrong they may be. I despise hostility and offensive attitude--they're certainly not needed here. I believe that while calling people liars is never a good thing unless they did something that harms us directly, questioning, inquiring, and investigating is hardly something anyone should be blamed and attacked for.

He is questioning other members' settings and results? what's wrong with that? Mr. Fox is quite a valuable asset to this forum and always ready to help and share his great knowledge. Still, I believe that anyone can express their opinion and comment on all the benchmark results and anything Mr. Fox shares with the board. Why do we have to attack anyone for doubting one's results? Mr. Fox is, of course, free to acknowledge one's doubts in regards of his results or not. Through healthy inquiring and following responses with can all learn something new. But if one feels threatened by questions then we might as well stop calling ourselves a community that shares. I'd rather read posts filled with geekiness and juicy tech knowledge than testosterone. Let's not mob-gang against one member. Lynching is out of fashion you know.

What the hell is wrong with you? Who here doesnt like me? Who have said they doesnt like me? "No one likes you". Seriously?

I have reported your post. Because that is probably the most messed up thing you can say to a person. Not that I actually give a damn about you, but you just cant say that in a forum to another person. And you are lying as well.
You actually deserve to be banned for that post. If justice is served. But sadly Im not a moderator,

I have the right to question people, wether they are the king, new member, Mr Fox. I really don't care. I am a thinking person. I dont just take an answer that havent been fully supported by evidence. I have the right to do that. Same with people who are questioned. They can supply information, or they can refuse to. I dont control people.

Don't like when someone calls a bunch of people a liar. In that case almost every post you make would be reported. I have mad respect for people like fox. Saying everything they say is bs is not right, calling them a liar essentially. Even if you think they so, you keep it in to prevent threads like these where everyone is barking at each other because that's what happens. You don't go to everyone's post saying BS! BS! BS!

Edit: but on second thought, maybe I did let myself go on my own post, so... Sorry about that.

You know you are the very definition of a forum troll. I have been discussing temperatures the past 5-6 days, you havent contributed anything other than attacked me.
Same can be said about the majority of your last posts.

You do nothing but stir up discussions with your flaming.

Like I said, unlike you, I have the right to question people. I dont care if he is Mr Fox. He isnt a special person with magical abilities.

And for your information, I said I "called BS" on Joker's post earlier. It was one time. The rest was a discussion between him, Mr Fox and me, where I tried to get more information out of them. I havent posted "BS" any more.

Now get lost, and stop trolling.

If nothing gets done about dandan and he doesnt get punished for his post, Im leaving this forum.

    For good.

Im sick in my stomach that moderators let threads like this get out of hand. Im sick that im not allowed to question people without getting attacked.

What kind of forum is this really? This is not the first time Ive seen threads derail and where moderators have been awfully quiet and done nothing. Is this because you are siding with them Mr Fox? If you are, then screw this forum. I dont want to be a part of it.

Something on topic...personally I prefer the look of the M18xR2 over the AW 18. Only thing design wise I prefer on the AW 18 over the M18xR2 is the keyboard. Otherwise I prefer the M18xR2 in design over the AW 18.

I prefer the aesthetic appeal of the new lineup as opposed to the previous, but they're both unique in their own way, and I would not decline ownership of either based solely upon that.

I'm awaiting Black Friday sales in hopes of acquiring an AW 18 to supplement my AW 14. But hey, if I can wait that long, I might as well wait another 6 months to see what's new with the first revision, right?

Wait for the new revision. For $5k+ it would suck to find Nvidia 880 SLI is 40% faster than 780 SLI only a few months after purchase.

I definitely like the design of the new Alienware a lot. The illuminated touchscreen looks awesome.
However I do not like how you can not replace the battery easily, also I read that they tend to suffer from throttling which is is a no go for any gaming rig.
But the thing that let to me getting my R2 was just the fact that this one has a great value and they dont offer crossfire cards anymore with the new 18.

    Cheers

This throttling problem is true, but it is an easy fix. They just need to hurry up and pull the trigger on fixing it. There is nothing wrong with the machines... they only need a BIOS and EC firmware update.

They don't offer AMD any more, but probably for good reasons. At the moment, AMD doesn't offer anything new that seems good enough for most new Alienware buyers and problems with the last generation of AMD GPUs probably cost them too much money to seriously consider trying to use them for the new product launch.

The new AMD R9 290X is quite something. If it sells at $600~, it will force Nvidia to drop the price on the GTX 780 and Titan. When there's something good happening on the desktop front, something good should come to laptops too.
