Just a reminder, my Bigfoot Killer Wireless-N 1103 is better that yours!
Why you may ask? Because Aikimox will ship mine first
I might not be the first to receive it but my e-peen+1 status is better than yours! Muahahahahaa
PS: I am bored at work >.>; -
I tried to order one but there is no option for pickup? I don't want to pay for shipping when I live in Calgary.
-
I don't suppose if anyone knows if this card is supported in Linux as yet? I tried to Google this information but did not have much success.
Having a look at the website it doesn't look like there are custom drivers for Linux but that doesn't mean that the chipset isn't supported in Linux. -
I'm sure you can pay with paypal and setup a pickup with aikimox

I know cross posting is generally frowned upon, and I wrote this in a different thread, however it might be more useful here since this seems to be a broader discussion of the Killer N cards.
For those of you buying the 1102 from somewhere besides Dell to upgrade your machines, take a read:
Just noticed something when looking at the picture of the 1102 (2 antenna version) since I cant seem to find the 1103 for sale anywhere.
If you look at the picture here:
BIGFOOT NETWORKS Killer Wireless-N 1102 Wireless Card, IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n, Internal PCIe Half Mini Card : AVADirect Custom Computer Component
You'll notice the spot on the board is there for the third antenna, but the connector is not.
I did some searching on digikey, and if someone is very handy with a soldering iron, you could probably plop the third antenna header on there and make it the same device as the 1103. Or if not the same device, possibly increase the range and reception of the 1102. Especially considering our M17/18x laptops have 3 antenna wires.
Here's the connectors on digikey that I believe are correct:
(couple of different options)
Digi-Key - A36237CT-ND (Manufacturer - 1566230-1)
Digi-Key - J983CT-ND (Manufacturer - 128-0711-201) -
find it odd if this would be possible
-
Just looked at my bigfoot 1102 card and it does infact have a extra open spot for the 3rd antenna. You cant see the backside of the card as its covered by a large flat metal panel, so I cant confirm if there is something there for the antenna to even hook up to.
I will order up a antenna plug and get back to you all about it. -

-
Any luck getting these babies in today? I was sorta hoping they would show up before the week end.
-
Not yet, still waiting
-
Does one need to have the killer 1102 to preorder the 1103? I have a m18x with the intel.
-
No, you don't need the 1102.

They get in today??
-
Will let you know shortly, I'm trying to get the status update on our shipment. Stay tuned...
-
Here's an update:
The cards will be shipped to Fortnax during this week. According to Bigfoot, they are at the final stage of QA and we are at the head of the list of the business partners (at least with our first batch that was preordered a month ago). -
I was hoping to receive it this week lol but that's obviously not going to happen. -

Great news! Thanks Aikimox. That UPS label should still be good right?
-
Yep, it's valid for 30 days, so don't worry
-
Thanks. -
-
Update:
The cards are in Calgary and will be in my hands today! We have a corporate meeting till 4pm, so realistically will begin shipping tomorrow morning. Stay tuned. -

ALIENWARE Alienware Orion M18x Backpack - TSA Friendly : Game Consoles & Video Games | Dell -
Got is and replied
-
Considering that my m14x was purchased before the Killer™ Wireless-N 1103 was available, would it be a problem when using the drivers from Dell?
-
Shouldn't be a problem. The card is compatible with all AW and Clevo notebooks, we even installed it in a few Elitebooks and Precisions. Worst case, you can always use the reference drivers.
-
Ahh, true. Thank you very much Aikimox!
-
Now all I need is my M18x to be shipped -
We will begin shipping tomorrow morning, stay tuned

Mechanized Menace Lost in the MYST
Sweet! Can't wait till I get mine in.
-
In the past 24 hours I alone had to prepare over 100 packages, lol. That's insane. Those ordered first, will be receiving their tracking notifications shortly. Keep in mind though, it's a long weekend in Canada, so there might be some delays till Tuesday.
Anyway, the first batch has left our dept..
@Mkelliny,
Yours was picked up by UPS a few hours ago -
