The one issue I have noticed with the 1103 is an issue connecting to networks sometimes. It will get hung up while trying to connect to a network and the only thing that will solve it is resetting my computer. I have several different networks that I use and have had the same problem with all of them. I never had this issue with my Intel 6300 or 5300, etc. Has anyone else had this issue?

What is the setting you guys using for killer network manager?
How do i get maximum performance? -

Thanks

Do any of these cards have an impact on performance if you're plugged directly into a network?
I generally only use wifi when surfing the web and tend to stay directly connected while gaming. -

Im wondering what the general concensus is on these cards....is the Killer 1103 "better" than the Intel 6300? - if so, why.
Are there any drawbacks to the killer? - if so, what are they?
Aikimox, maybe you can help out fella?
-
Mine just came in today. I also got 6970s in and was supposed ti get 6990s. Debating on putting in the killer now or when my cards come in. I have no internet now since Verizon was on strike. They gave me a three week window. When that time was near they went on strike. Still don't have an install date and its been a month.

Yesterday i broke my n6230 after repasting job on my xps l702 and curently looking for new wireless card.I think n1103 will be my new card. But i dont want to loose my bluethoot either.I have one empty mini pci slot where tv tunner should be it is wwan slot. Can i use this slot for adding bluethoot and wath bluethoots are use in awileware???
-
Anyone? Thanks.
-
It is significantly better in gaming, video streaming and downloading/uploading stuff. Mostly because of the software which will auto-prioritize the "traffic" and dedicate the whole channel to the most important tasks. Think of it as a preconfigured automatic firewall that says "Whoa" to gaming, donwloading, video streaming, etc and "Nah!" to stuff like hidden OS and heavy software processes that can really ruin important gaming sessions.
Bigfoot also claims that the chip itself is optimized for online gaming and manages certain calculations normally done by the GPU/CPU thus reducing the latency further.
I'd uninstall all network software and drivers first, run cleaner and then reinstall the driver. From what you are saying it looks like the problem may be from the previous drivers/software (Intel?). You should always remove those entirely before installing the new wifi card.
You can certainly try using that slot but I don't think it will work. Tried it on one machine and not only it didn't work, it killer the primary wifi slot. -

Thanks for the info Aiki, much appreciated! - looks like Killer it may well be.....
-
wow you put something in free wwan slot and damage the wlan slot ??? Thts kill my enthusiasm. Can you tell me does n1103 will work on XPS l702 or it will have some BIOS lock.I know that n6300 work on xps but for killer card i am not sure.
-
Oh, sorry for confusion. It didn't kill it permanently, but I couldn't use the wi-fi till the bluetooth was removed from the slot. the killer should work on most systems and there shouldn't be any problem. If it doesn't work, we will refund it
-
I did except running a cleaner. Are you talking about ccleaner? Thanks.
-
guys, is the killer option for the m18x really worth it? sounds like a bunch of bs to me. i know the desktop versions dont really make much of a difference (if any) on high end systems.... whats the feed back on the m18x?
-
Yes, I meant the ccleaner or similar stuff.
It really depends on what you expect from it. I know many hardcore online gamers (participated in AA2x clan wars for quite some time and my best friend is not the last WOW addict on this planet) and the general consensus so far, killer cards both desktop and notebook versions do their job pretty darnn good in reducing lag and lowering ping.
One thing that made me completely abandon the Intel cards is the video conference calls that run so much smoother with killers, it's incredible. It makes my online business meetings far less frustrating.
But let the customers talk as I'm from the biased side

I have a noob question for Aikimox
I just order Bigfoot 1103 from dell and wait for almost 2 weeks and my order still in production
yesterday I receive a call from dell and they let me know my order is no longer available for purchase alone @@
nothing make me upset like this
so I decide to purchase from Fortnax
but I still worry about driver
so if I purchase from fortnax, what driver should I use?
from dell or from bigfootnetwork? -
you simply have to uninstall your previous drivers, install a new adpater and download drivers from bigfoot! everything workerd like a charm for me
-
I just got one at Fortnax around 79.99
don't know if they have 1 day shipping
I want to got it same time as my Crucial M4 so I dont have install Intel driver @@ -
just shoot aiki email to ask about one day shipping @@
-
We'll figure something about the shipping. I'll try to escalate your order so it gets shipped Monday
-
thanks ^^!
-
Thanks, I ran the ccleaner and another registry cleaner and have done clean installs of the Bigfoot drivers and network manager and I still have the problem. I just talked to Ethan at Bigfoot for the third time about this and he thinks it might be an issue between the 1103 and my Belkin router. Anyone having or still having problems with the 1103 especially those who posted issues shortly after they bought the 1103 a month or so ago?
Even with this issue of getting hung up while connecting to my networks every so often, this is the best laptop network card that I have ever owned. This is just very frustrating because I need to restart my computer every time it happens which includes having to physically hit the power button because the restart and shutdown don't work. This has never happened before I installed the 1103 and I have used 4+ cards (internal and external) on this system. -
Your order has shipped
-
Yay ^^!
oh right Aikimox
after I install Bigfoot Killer 1103 from Fortnax
which driver you think I should install
from Bigfootnetwork or from dell? -
The Bigfoot tech told me that everyone should ALWAYS use the most-to-date ones directly from Bigfoot but I would try the Dell ones if you have issues...
-
^^ second that
-
by second that you mean from dell?
-
by second that I mean I agree with Rnbaker.
-
Is there a particular order the antennae must go in? I believe right now I have black - black - white.
It does not say which is receiving vs transmitting post. Just Chan 1 - 2 - 3 on the board.
Trying to troubleshoot an issue with when I have a sudden packet jump (as in horde in l4d2), my ping jumps 100. Unsure if the card or my crappy provider. -
just receive Killer 1103 from Fortnax
before I install Killer 1103 I uninstall intel 6300 driver by control panel and then using ccleaner
then install new wireless card and driver from bigfootnetwork
but I see no change on speed when I watch movie online, download, ...
and in Wireless Network Connection Status, its speed still 54mbps
weird @@ -
You will still be limited by your ISP (mine is capped by 1.4mbps
) but you'll benefit from lower ping, less lag, and generally a more stable connection.
-
Do you have N-router?
-
Just want to double check before I order my 1103. My m18x has a 6200..Its the 3rd antenna going to be an issue?
-
No it will not be all m18x systems come standard with 3 antennas no matter what card you order initially with the exception of the m17x r2 system. The others I am not too sure about but i know the m17x r2 systems came either with 2 or 3 wires depending on the card you order.
-
Thanks, Hope I'll notice a difference..Shipping is pretty steep
-
I actually just went on ebay to look up prices, i came by an auction that is around $10 cheaper. If that helps you

Thanks, I think I'll order it from Fortnax. At least if I have any trouble I'll know who to talk to
-
If you are willing to sacrifice tracking # and wait an extra week or so, we can do standard shipping as well and price match it
-
As far as install I haven't really seen anything on this thread except taking off the back and removing a screw..Seems easy enough and I'll get my m18x tomorrow!!! Is install that easy?

Anyone know if Dell built systems that are supplied with a Killer card should come "badged up" either underneath or on the palmrest? - got my new rig in the last few days with the killer inside but no badge.....just wondering if it should have one and if not, wether I can get one......Aiki???
-
I'll be ordering mine in a day or 2. I peel all my badges off, I don't think I know a single person that would know what that badge ment anyway
If mine comes with a badge I'll let you know. I can throw in in an envelope and mail it to ya.
-
Oh you live in England...lol
-
I don't think AW systems come with stickers for the killer card but we do ship the cards with the stickers, that's how we get them from the manufacturer. So, if you grab yours from Fortnax it should arrive with a sticker. I can send you one if you wish (the sticker)
-
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
That would be brilliant Aiki. PM sent.
-
Me too!!! I wanna sticker!
-
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
Its the little things that make it sweeeeet lolol
-
Of course. Although you need the bigger things to justify it because having the sticker without the actual component makes you a *backend hole*
-
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
For sure. No point in having a sticker without the hardware to back it up.....kinda like putting a ferrari badge on a skoda.....lol - nice scores on the oc'd 580m btw widezu.....very impressive.
-
Haha thanks! Unfortunately, there is a guy in the Clevo forums with a higher processor than me who beats my GPU score by 54 points! But no worries, I will hit that 19k overall score!
