If you can get 3940XM for $275, put me down for one. I'll upgrade my 3920XM for that price and sell the 3920XM if the 3940XM is a better overclocker.

Yeah if you actually can get a 3940XM for $275, then put me down for two. But this is completely contingent on the $275 price, if it's higher than that I'm still down for one only

Honestly my secondary rig that mainly travels to work with me or when I go out of town and that thing sits just like my 2960xm. 4.4-4.5ghz without any VID. I tried 4.7ghz with it and it only requires a +10 VID bump and its golden. I haven't attempted any higher with it due to it being more of the traveling rig. All in all the 3940XM is the "Done Right" Ivy Bridge cpu. And I hope that we could get the 3940XM for $275, It would be pure bliss but even at $300 it would still be worth it.
-
I'm in for a 3920xm or 3940xm if under $300, or if i'm too late buy Mr. Fox's 3920xm if he sells it
.

I think I might buy another 3940xm too if it was that cheap. My 3940xm memory controller can't handle 2133 ram on integrated graphics. I get weird graphical glitches all over the place like a GPU does when its vram clocked way too high

i just got 3940xm at $388
-
I'll add you in for the 3940XM.
And I will add it to yours as well. -
Just an update, I will no longer be adding anymore people to this list. 4pm CST has come and gone for today. So now all we have to do is have everyone agree on a target price and go from there. Thank you.
-
Ok. Thanks for the info. I think $600 for the 4930MX sounds good, but I think we should lowball them with the price. I think maybe ask for $550 to start with. I think $50 less than what everyone wants there parts for. Just a thought. 20k is a huge order. I think it's really cool you putting
This all together. Thanks for your work. -
i think if theres not going to be a significant discount for 1 big bulk buy then ill pull out.. the whole point of basically buying wholesale is to get that big discount.. sound like there still wanting market value with no discount..
-
There really Is not that big markup in items for resellers like there used to be.
-
I think $250-300 for a 3940xm
400-450 each for 880m. (depends on our total numbers and bargaining power)
Of course less is better buy I'm not sure what they pay to get their hands on these goods.
What do you guys think of those asking prices -
3940XM $300 Add me
-
DumbDumb, I'm a realist... I will try my best not to sound like a jerk, but this has to be acceptable on both our side and on the sellers point. If you were marching into this thinking you were going to walk off with a pair of 880's and a 3940xm for 1/4 of the price than you need to wake up and come to the real world. Realistically we can expect to see at average 25-30% off the 880m's, maybe a little more depending on what the seller buys them for from the distributor. Now the next part is the seller still needs to make a little bit of money in this, we are not here to rip him off. Plus this is the first time of a Group Buy so we have to keep things as realistic as possible or this will never work. Now this seller did state that if this does go thru and goes well he would get more involved with this community to give better deals to us and more group buys. As previously stated I will not say who the seller is until this comes closer to the end where we actually start looking a paying for this if it even happens. Now since you think were going for such a high price, tell us what a realistic price is for the hardware, per price, lot price, bulk price? Keep in mind this is for DELL OEM hardware not clevo or eurocom or ES or QS. This is REAL DELL we are going after. As for CPU's they will be OEM as well and I'm hoping to piggy back off the mass of 880m's to get a bigger discount for the cpu's and the 780m's. Remember 880's just came out and dell just started putting them out in april if memory serves right. But seriously we need to keep positive about it, so I would prefer it to be more related to what we should try and shoot for instead of being "that guy", if it ends up not being where you think is acceptable then at that point go for saying your out but please not right now. Just remember this stuff takes time to negotiate, plus it simply comes to a simple old saying, Whats the worst thing that can happen? He says no? Big whoop. Anyways Not trying to harp on you, I just want people to understand and keep there heads straight.
Honestly that's what it was for me back in the day when I was selling Asus laptops and hardware, I use to be able to buy a Asus G72GX from my Old distributor (ASi Partner) for $600 and the retail cost for one was $1300, I use to sell them like candy because I was ok selling it for less than any store to me because I was still making money hand over fist with it. I still think to this day it is that way because for my work when we sell to Costco, Walmart, Target, etc. They buy it from us for 1/2 price and put the price close to what we sell it for retail. Same would be safe to assume in this case.
I appreciate your thoughts on it, if we have more people pushing for that kind of price per Dell 880m, I will not have a problem tossing it at him to see what he says. Worst he can do is say no. Basically what we are shooting for here is a target price range right now, not an exact price. We get to the exact price once it starts to actually come to light that we will be doing the buy officially.DumbDumb and reborn2003 like this. -
You have already been added but the price range is duly noted.
-
It would be nice if it worked out though. 400 for 880ms, heck I'd might even buy 4 of them, 2 for me and 2 for my girls laptop if it was a killer price like that

I seen the 4930MX go for $415 on eBay - Used CPU i7 4930MX SR15M CPU Only No Fan IBM Dell Sony HP Alienware | eBay
This equates to £246.44. I would say £200 would be a nice price to pay for the 4930MX -
Its not quite sold yet there tiger it still has 14 hours left. I bet in the last 2 hours she bumps another $200. Plus I don't trust that guys transactions almost everything he sells is a private sale.

3940XM: $300
3920XM: $200
4930MX: $600
A bit aggressive, but still within reason I think. If we can actually achieve the target price for 3940XM, I'll take two as mentioned before. 3920XM I'll take only if we can get it for $200.Mr. Fox likes this. -
I'll definitely buy a 3920XM at that price ^
-
Any news on this

Wow so this really did go for $415 in the end. If that's a true OEM chip and wasn't beaten black and blue by its previous owner, that's a real steal.
-
Well fenced loot usually brings in pennies on the dollar so that $415 did pretty well..TBoneSan likes this.

Well I need more feedback from the people involved so we can have more of a idea what everyone wants to go in for.
Currently it seems everyone is trying to get the 880m's for between $450-650 a piece (honestly don't think its going to happen). $400-450 for the 780m's(Possible if the seller is reasonable). $250-350 for 3940XM's. $250 for the 3920XM. $550-600 for 4930MX.reborn2003 likes this. -
You listed me in the 3940XM. I will buy if the...
3920xm is:$200-250
OR
3940xm is:$250-300 -
I will definitely spring $250-350 for a 39 40MX... no question.
Unless I can get them about $450 each, I will pass on the 880M. -
I ended up getting an R2 with an 3820QM, I'm in for the CPU and GPUs. I haven't been following the prices for components, so I'm happy with any discount.

Lots of wishful thinking here lol
1/4 - 1/3 of the price for the XM processors
50% of the 880Ms.
Are the margins from resellers really that great?
-
The 880Ms are a bit on the wishful thinking side, but the XM processors really aren't too far off. The going rate for Ivy Bridge XM seems to be around 50% of what it used to command, so about $500. Toss in a 30-40% discount on that and you're basically looking at around $300.
-
If I can get the 4940MX for around £200-250, put me down for one. I'll pay as soon as it's ready to be shipped.
-
Instead of wasting time pulling ridiculous and completely wishful prices out of our asses how about you go back to the seller and ask for a unit price if we order 10x 880m's / 20x, etc and then we know where we are in terms of potential pricing and then if people are happy we can move forward.
Frankly, if you put forward some of the prices listed in this thread, your supplier is going to laugh in your face. -
I have been working on it. Keep in mind I do this stuff on my inbetween time at work and when I'm free at home so I can't be on the dot with everything on this.
-
So a little update on this, I pitched the prices at the seller, and also reached out to a few other sellers and hopefully we will have some sort of response on this soon. I did go both ways with our prices and also what they would do for lots of 10 as well.

I am willing to buy 780m GTX SLI (does it come with heatsink and bridge?) or OEM I7 3920 XM for 3940XM

Hopefully this happens soon. Watch dogs is owning me

I would be interested in the OEM i7 3940XM and two of the Dell GTX 880m.
-
great job..................
-
It should come with the X-Bracket/Heat spreader. It definitely won't come with a Heat sink.
-
I would be happy for a 4930mx or 4940mx (depends on price for this one) and also 2x 880m. I am in the UK so as long as shipping is not a problem it would be good for me.
Question as I have an AW18 with a 4800mq can I fit a 4930mx or will I need extra parts as well? Parts are not easy to get in the UK. I am assuming the 880m will just go straight in.
Gives me good reason to repaste my machine as well -
any news from the sellers on this?
-
Yeah I'm also waiting on news for the 4940MX.
-
3940XM here...
-
Still waiting.... Haven't heard a thing since they are reviewing it with their partners. My guess is they are thinking we are crazy or full of it.

I'll give it a few more days. If no news by then, I'll go ahead and purchase one on ebay.
-
I am interested 2x 780m Sli cards if the price is right. The warranty on parts and labor just expired (maxed out at 5 years), so i might as well put the money towards new GPUs.
reborn2003 likes this. -
If you read thru, I'm not accepting anymore people on this at this time, We are still waiting on the sellers to respond.
-
I'm going to assume it's a no-go if the seller doesn't respond by the end of next week.
-
This is the First response which is from UpgradeMonkey who seem unwilling to give us a better discount. Here is their quote. They tried to say that they barely see 5-10% profit with their cpu's, and the margin for gpu's is higher but with a higher rate of failure and returns. Honestly I wasn't born yesterday and do not believe this because if that's true then we are seeing that profit on this quote and a company would never accept to only just make their money back or less unless forced. Personally I think they are still trying to get 20% on us atleast even with supposedly giving a discount.
10x 3940xm 460 USD --- Retail price $558.00 (17%)
1x 3920xm 400 USD --- Retail price $398.00 (Actually making us pay over retail when its best offer right now on ebay)
5x 4930mx 675 USD --- Retail price $778.00 (13%)
21 X 880M 750 USD --- Retail price $885.64 (15%)
9 x 780M 680 USD --- Retail price $770.00 (11%)
This was the original quote before I said that there was no true discount. Plus they are currently doing best offer on the ivy bridge and the 780's right now. So that means their sales are down on those and they are just trying to get rid of them. Honestly can't get rid of them if you can't accept any offers. Especially with over $20,000+ coming their way.
10x 3940xm 460 USD
1x 3920xm 400 USD
5x 4930mx 685 USD
21 X 880M 850 USD
9 x 780M 690 USD
Ebay/Paypal may charge certain fees and what not, but it doesn't even come close to the prices they are offering so obviously they are not being very honest with this. Basically the type of behavior I expected from them. No I'm waiting on my other sellers to see what they say.
Group Buy for Dell GTX 780/880m's, i7 3920/3940XM, And i7 4930/4940MX's
