Thanks for the heads up. I was about to order mine this week. Hopefully, it will come out before mid-october.

Never know, AW made a lot of announcements about the new GPUs being released in June, but it took until August for the 560M to finally make it into the production units. Might be a similar situation with the CPUs, some might be available, others might not get replaced for awhile longer.

I know you were waiting for 560m in a non-UK region. As soon as I was told about them, they were available more or less right away (at least in the UK for manual orders) so fingers crossed it will be likewise for the cpu release news too....
I will find out more in the next few days....will post back to keep you guys informed! -

Talked to a rep in Ireland today and he said that the 2960XM wouldn't be available for another 3 months.... then I rang another rep and he said he can order my M18X with the 2960XM right now. Really is pot-luck whether you get someone who knows anything...... Hopefully ordering tomorrow!

any ideas? -
My 21-day return window ends on the 31st... hopefully by then! Doubt it though.

Lol! Ive only had mine 10 days and it's already an abacus!

Hi, new to the forums!
Does the updated line apply to the 2630QM as well? And if so, any idea of what the performance increase would be like? -
steviejones133 Notebook Nobel Laureate
The 2670qm is the next gen equivalent of the 2630qm....I wont blurb all the stuff but suffice to say that its supposedly about equal to the 2720qm.
Notebookcheck always have some good info so have a look here. Should give you some info on 2630qm vs 2670qm (successor) and 2720qm -
When should i expect the availability of 2960XM on the M18x for Canada/USA ? -
Thanks, been browsing for a few days now and this forum is brilliant!
Currently looking to get an m18x but having trouble getting to a sales rep able to provide the new processors (last guy i talked to said they were only available to business users). But I'll keep trying and I'm sure it'll work out in the end.
Thanks for the info on the 2670 -

It is in their systems to order. -
Just got a word from my rep.
Its in the system but trying to add it to the quote the system goes into error.
So its there but not available yet. Bummer. -

I think that's because although the cpu SKU's will be on the system, the green light hasnt been given to sell them yet...manually or otherwise. It's just a matter of time I guess before we see them live or to configure manually.
-
Does Dell sell OEM/Tray CPU's? I already have a 2720QM in my M18x and I'm interested in purchasing the 2960XM once available.
Thanks!

$2000? That's crazy and wrong. Same price as 2920xm it should be. What I want to see is what the overclock peak is... Unless it can actually overclock higher than the 2920xm using the unlocked limits of the a03 unlocked bios and Da-G's method then its not any different than the 2920xm other than its stock speeds and baseclock at 2.7ghz up from 2.5ghz. If that is the only difference than to an overclocker the basclock never matters since I'm always running at turbo values or 800mhz. So truly until proven there may be no real world difference at all. I was going to buy one but until I see higher speeds on the 2960xm I will continue to use my time tested 2920xm. cheers.

Seeing as how the 2920xm hits thermal/Vcore limits with the M18x and is dynamically all over the map, i suspect the 2960xm will be just like the 920xm/940xm scenario with Throttlestop. Hopefully, the M18x will be compatible with ivy, and that will be the next, big thing extreme parts (XM) speaking...

Probably there will be no support for any existing SB laptop whatsoever! So i'd rather gear up with the best SB CPU i might need from the new Intel line-up (2760qm, 2860qm, 2960qm) and enjoy...
Original article is here -
So Sager did implement a new Intel SB CPU's to their range of laptops, we should see an AW refresh pretty soon, based on that!

Finally got confirmation from my rep today that he can include the 2960XM in my quote. Fingers crossed I'm ordering tomorrow! Although, my RAM and SSD came today so I'll have to stare at them for a few weeks....
-
Are these available to order on m18x in the uk yet?
-
I ordered mine in Ireland today through our business rep with the 2960XM, however yesterday was the first day he could add it to the quote without getting an error. -
just hope it's not like some of these pre orders...you think it's ordered...then you wait for 2 to 3 months to get it.

FYI: The 2960XM is already available at the Dellienware configuration site:
