the "6" does it, heh? :p Awesome CPU btw, even though it's useless with the 2-piped HS and stock cooling and with extra cooling you don't need it at all, just grab a es 2920xm. Still, extra 200mhz for the same price sounds ok.

I'm thinking that 3DMark11 score is his old system with 6970M CFX. The date on the benchmark was 07-19-2011 which is before he received his replacement system. With my previously installed 6970M CFX, I was scoring up to P7479 in 3DMark11 with the humble i7 2720QM.

Returned for a full refund as they wouldnt exchange for me....had to re-order so I thought I may as well wait for the 2960 and also grab 6990 at the same time.

Exactly what I thought....a no-brainer for no additional outlay....I did kinda wonder if Dell may have dropped in the triple piped HS that we saw on a few systems supplied to reviewers - havent opened it up yet but chances are I'm dreaming that it would be true.....

Correct. That was my old rig's best 3dMark11 with 6970's and the 2920xm - havent had the time to batter this one yet but rest assured, I will have a play about with it a bit ;)
