I have a sales resolution specialist (emailed mr dell a few weeks back) that is helping me with some other refund issues, and now he will try to help me with this one as well. However he stated that we have to wait till about Wednesday since everyone is upgrading there systems.

Thank you everyone for the advice and hopefully we will proceed with the replacement as long there are no other issues. Just hope the other system doesn't have anything else wrong with it.

Now I just need to order a cooler, bag, and some memory for this mothership!

CoolerMaster Storm 19 is a beast and HyperX memory and you will be one happy camper. Bag's I don't know about because I don't transport mine anywhere.

Another CoolerMaster - U3 - positionable fans directly under the cpu/gpu/s. Works great on my current R2. Dirt cheap too.....

Nice video fella!.....is that mark on the left side toward the rear on the lid? - looked like a bit of white but maybe my eyes ;) (at 1min 53) - looks like chipped finish to me....wouldnt be happy with that.

Funny - not related at all this comment BUT....the Black colour is growing on me!!!

I wonder why Dell called it black when it really does look more gunmetal than anything.....again, could be my eyes but it seems more grey than black to me (now black is the shade of the underside intakes etc and the plastic finish on the rear of the screen exterior).....nice colour anyhow.

Just hope you get you small blemish sorted with the minimum of hassle.

Thanks for the good video! It convincingly confirms that black is by far the best looking color of the m18x, unless you prefer red.

Great vid Smoothy! I was worried you were going to drop it though using only one hand. The color looks good. I particularly like the underside detail. There is opportunity for great cooling.

    Great video

Next, the color appears to be a mix between lunar silver and stealth black. The review in hardware heaven notes their model to be lunar silver, and it resembles the black of the m18x. But dell notes it to be stealth black...

Personally the color looks like others have noted, gun metal gray. Personally I think it's a fantastic color for the m18x, and dell should just go ahead and switch out names, or add an actual stealth black/lunar silver option to clear things up.

Definitely changing my mind about the black...I think I'll probably go that route now.

MAN! I haven't been posting in the past 2 days because I have been playing games non stop on this thing! Amazing! There is not a game yet that I have played that doesn't just run like butter. This laptop laughs at everything I throw at it. I could not be more happy with my purchase.

I'll be using this around the campus when I head to college this summer, so if it really can last that long on the IGP then I'm sold. :D

Question though, would it be bad to reboot the computer about twice or more daily to switch between the discrete to the IGP and back? I would think that would wear on the components more quickly than leaving it in one state for long periods of time.

Ok, 1hour of browsing and transferring all my soft. 4hours of battery life remaining. I'm in the balanced mode BTW.

5 hours is pretty much a given. I'm thinking 6 is possible.
